  • I think you are right, coming out the other side of a difficult experience, it is good to look back and see what was accomplished and learned.

It is interesting that during your toughest times you pulled together as a couple, it can so often go the other way, and it was a credit to you both.

    Thanks for sharing your progress.

  • Listed 2 of my target of 5 ebay items todays. They are high value items and both have watchers now. Fingers crossed they'll sell.

Tidied the kid's playroom with OH and decluttered 3 bags of of 'stuff'. Also gave it a vacuum and cleaned the windows.

OH sorted out my childcare voucher issue, which means they'll be active from my December pay.

Had a good talk to OH about money today. I think he is finally on board with the idea of paying off the mortgage asap after we clear this debt. We can start this in March providing nothing untoward happens in the meantime. We've also agreed to sit down with our budget each time one of us gets paid, so that we can try and keep our finances as tight as possible.

  • Good day today despite not doing everything on the 'to do' list. Decluttered A LOT of crap from our bedroom (which is the 'general dumping' ground of the whole house) AND tidied the rest of the upstairs. Some stuff heading to the charity shop but most of it went to the tip / recycling centre. OH and I worked well together, which isn't always the case when we do 'house' things. I think it was because I didn't put to much pressure on us to 'achieve', which is the same reason I don't feel bad about not decluttering the cabinet and my craft stash. It would have been nice, but I am content with how much we managed to do today.

I am a bit dreading going to work tomorrow as I have a had a week off for my anxiety, but I need to bite the bullet and get on with it as we need the money. Hopefully I won't have to do a full day and I can make some headway into my personal errands too.

    Thanks DF2012!

It went okay in the end. My boss was very nice. I got to leave early and I felt useful and productive whilst I was there. So not bad really!

    Quite a productive day today.

I ordered a replacement driving licence. I have been putting off updating my licence for 6 years and 11 months because I thought it would be a faff. When I realised that I couldn't find my licence a few months ago, I still delayed. Today I bit the bullet and did it online and it took 5 minutes! 5 MINUTES! I can't believe it. I procrastinated for nearly seven years and it was really easy!

I rang Tax Credits to update our circumstances. No idea what the outcome will be until they write to us.

I saw an injury compensation person and signed the paperwork for them to proceed with a claim on my behalf. I feel a bit awkward about it as I am very grateful that the injury wasn't worse, but I have been talked (nagged) into seeing the 'bigger picture' by my Dad. So. Wait and see about that too.

I also filled in the expense form for my November expenses in work. So that will be an extra £46.64 for the kitty in December.

    Today's spends:
    • Thank you card - 29p
    • Box of biscuits (gift) - was £4.00 but used price promise vouchers so only spent £2.73
    • Dog food (specialist) - £45.89
    • Driving licence - £20.00

    Also in MSE news;
    • Had free hot chocolate in Starbucks
    • Found 2p roadkill (all my problems are over) :rotfl:
    • Fully charged mobile in work

Pay day is tomorrow and I am very excited about doing the money hokey-cokey.
