I have to say, I have doubts as the veracity of this thread. The OP was absolutely stuffed full of typos, spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. This post is nigh on perfect'

'should of' is nigh on perfect?

At the risk of taking pedantry to the extreme, Shakespeare was happy to spell words in a number of different ways, including his own name.

As for the OP, you pay for a survey for a reason. If you choose not to follow up the issues highlighted then it makes it very difficult to reopen them at a later date, due to the implication you are aware and happy with things as they are.

Fair point about the grammar and spelling. I think you will see however, that it was the comment that the second post was 'nigh on perfect' that was being questioned, not the actual posts by the OP. I think it is great that this forum is open to everyone. It is an amazing asset and one that I am so grateful for.

That is a reason to make the forum more and more friendly.

That is true evergreen. I have relatives whose first language isn't English and I'm glad they can post here. It was the insinuation that the OP wasn't genuine because of the difference in the posts which I thought was strange.

We can always point out or highlight the contradiction or the fishy elements in any post of any level. This way will weed out the trolls while everyone else feels comfortable.
Take for example, I wanted to initiate serious discussion about the housing market, in general and in local areas. I wanted to discuss seriously the topic of: "Are immigrants driving house prices up?". I am neutral and fair (I hope). Too many immigrants have taken advantage of the country. But more and more LOCALS are doing the same shame. You will now understand why I have been hesitant to open that sort of discussion which is full of needles and pins. But it will need to surface up at one stage.

I bought a house earlier this year. I found out late on in the process that the road was not adopted and the garage was leasehold. These were identified by the survey and I thoroughly researched the implications before renegociating the price.

no one forced you to sign the cotract including the estate agent. You could of pulled out but instead you agreed to buy at your price. The estate agent works for the buyer and id not at fault at all here in my opinion though I am no expert. Just accept and move on. There is things I would of done differently in highsoght to save money, so I learn from it.

So you're saying you want to start a thread on a hugely contentious subject, but you are wary to do so because some people might express controversial opinions regarding this controversial subject, which would presumably make them trolls?

May I suggest that debate, on the Internet or otherwise, may not be your 'thing'?
