Aliasojo, did they ask you anything about the account you wanted to switch?
Did they say the delay was because you're a homemaker?
She didn't say but she did come back on the line to ask specifically if I'd be paying in directly to the account every month. Obviously I said yes.
I suspect it's down to my credit card balances and the fact I've switched a few times over the last 6 months or so.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I asked them specifically first before I started the process. I made it clear it was a co-op current account, she checked the sort code and account number and said it was fine so she then started the process.
They check the identity stuff first and if that is ok they then go through the rest of the application and ask details about your income and debts.
So, they ask about ID, income, and any credit cards, is that correct?I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
Ok, I've switched a few times too lol I'm interested to see if they accept you, I want to do this too, but would be putting homemaker.
So, they ask about ID, income, and any credit cards, is that correct?
And what your mortgage payment is and if you have loans etc.
They also want to know about old dormant credit accounts you haven't used in ages so if you have any, try to remember them or close them sharpish. Basically anything financial, they want to know about it.
They also ask if you are tied into your mortgage (clearly looking to see if they can sell you something else!)Herman - MP for all!0 -
Thanks aliasojo. Just one more question, what details did they ask about for the account to be switched, card number or anything like that?I Hate Jobsworths!!!0

They asked for sort code and account number but I asked specifically if this account could be switched ok so I don't know if they ask for these normally or not, can't help there, sorry.Herman - MP for all!0

DIDNT ASK ME FOR A CARD nO, JUST ACCOUNT AND SORT CODE
OOPS CAPS0 -
Thanks both, I think hubby is going to try after work with a Halifax account, so will report back.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0

Just remembered, they also ask how many other current accounts you have.
I kinda glossed over that and said I have a few but the co-op one I wanted to switch was to be my main one.
I have 10 sole and 1 joint. That could be a problem, lol.
I cycle funds through them for various reasons, Halifax Reward accounts for the fivers and TSB & Lloyds accounts for the 5% & 4% as well as BoS accounts for 3%. My stooze pots are kept in some and the funds for various household bills are in others.
I expect I'm going to get knocked back.Herman - MP for all!0 -
PMSL
Bank: Is this going to be your main current account?
Me: Probably not.
Bank: Are you going to be paying bills from it?
Me: Probably not.
Bank: So what's the account for?
Me: Savings.
Bank: Savings?
Me: Yes
Bank: But it's a current account?
Me: That pays 2% up to £3k.
Bank: Okay; fair enough.
