Kaz2905that explains spoons very well, thank you.
Hb you sound like you had a super busy day. I feel like things are not really given away these days, i remember as a kid going through bin bags of hand me downs that family or friends had given to us. not anymore. I gave away all the nice baby clothes to various people and need to go through the loft at some point. Well done you for clearing some space :T
My car needs cleaning today. swear I saw a rat run past my pedals, husband said he had seen dead rats in there before so it can't be too bad :rotfl: he's home Thursday afternoon, was worried about the snow but he says he comes over Canada from Seattle so sunny vibes for next week please.
Lozzywow that's a lot of washing!
Hope you all have a good day

Morning all
DS1 (20) woke me at 6am as he was not feeling well, had a curry at the cricket club last night so wonder if it is that, he doesn't do being unwell.
WM1 on but loads of yesterday's washing is not dry, I may have to tumble dry some of this, I don't like to but running out of space and the boys need shirts for next week.
Horrid weather so I'm going to focus my efforts today on the DR and paperwork, spurred on by how nice the LR now looks (kids even commented).
First though I'm going to make another GF carrot cake before anybody gets up.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Morning all. I'm up on my own having cuppa and toast. DH is at the paid stuff and DD is still in bed having gone out last night. My plans for today:
Water plants
Wash up
Bath, do nails
Walk dogs
Shredding of DDs paperwork
Continue helping DD with sorting her stuff
Pork is already in the slow cooker.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Valli, the old car you have sold, does it have car tax on it? if so under the new rules you claim this back and sell the car untaxed.
Daily stuff done
Cat has had 2 breakfasts, and is now asleep back on the bed, I don't have the heart to move him to make the bed.
Lunch made
Expecting a mad day at work.

Morning everyone - just caught up on thread - and am ashamed to say we did not a lot yesterday! Found myself a new long sleeved nightie in Mn S - must be getting old!!! and did some knitting and that was it.
Today the plan is to go to BnQ for grout and grout reviver stuff so can finish the bathroom "makeover" next week.
Planning to do a beach clean up tomorrow if weather is fine and have two extra half days for my vol jobs. Think I'll do HHI before the Grand prix or else I'll spend all week on catch up!
Great news that many of you are clearing your "stuff" to charity shops - please remember to gift aid your donations, if you pay tax - or get your OH to register for Gift Aid if you don't - that way the charity will be able to claim 25 p in pound back.
Have a great day everyone. xJuly 16 £95/£200

I declared it sorn yesterday (now I have moved it off the road) and I know the tax cannot be transferred to the new owner. As it's being sold next weekend new owner can tax it Monday, which is the 1st.
But thanks for the heads up. Main thing is that, with electronic tax the tax CANNOT be transferred to the new owner.:(
DW emptied WM x2 TD x2 and ironing done.
Boddy your comment re the sleeping bags struck a chord; one of my colleagues has organised a collection at work and has collected quite a few - many of which are brand new!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Another one here who has been decluttering.
The five bin bags of DD's summer clothes have been relocated to the loft, leaving a big corner of my bedroom empty. I then cleared quite a bit of stuff from under the bed. This is mostly paperwork that was moved upstairs when I redecorated the living room, but I lost interest before I sorted it. Some has gone, and I need to carry on.
I seem to have all the children's school reports - from nursery  I think I'll ask them if they want to keep them!
At that point, I was interrupted by DD who was desperately looking for some uni books. I found one quite quickly in the bag she was using when she started, but the other took a while - we pulled out all the stuff under her bed, and flung loads in the process. Then I remembered some had been put on the top of a bookshelf in the kitchen while clearing the table for dinner - yes, that was the one!
Next urgent step is to clear a section of shelf and keep it just for her uni stuff. Unfortunately, her room is too small to hold a desk and bookshelf.
I'd run out of energy and interest by then, so half my wool and knitting stash is on the bedroom floor awaiting sorting today - actually, that's more a pleasure than work.:DIt is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
The sum total of my flying this week has been 27 loads of washing... I have got a TD and an airer full drying now and 2 baskets still to fold and a basket of undies and one of unpaired socks..
Samuel may have chickenpox.. with a 9 day old Erin DD1 is hysterical.. Samuel was hospitalised for a week with whooping cough as a newborn and she is foreseeing this scenario again.

Loving the stories about the cakes. DD bought a coffee cake the fair, I have explained she can freeze it in portions but she says she's just going to eat the lot. No one else here likes it.
Ooooo someone has been spying on me. I very, very rarely allow myself cake, but the Co-0p at the bottom of the road recently had a makeover and to encourage people back in they're giving away cake. OH got given a whole carrot cake and took a slice with him on Friday when he went to London, and suggested I share the rest with the lodgers.
Yeah, right.
Saved me cooking supper for myself.
(I must add, the word 'caaaaaaake' is forever indelibly inscribed on my brain in Squeak and Dot's voices from Pigpen's video of two small pinks and what was left of a batch of cupcakes.)just_the_two_of_us wrote: »Great news that many of you are clearing your "stuff" to charity shops - please remember to gift aid your donations, if you pay tax - or get your OH to register for Gift Aid if you don't - that way the charity will be able to claim 25 p in pound back.
This has become a 'thing' for me. I have searched high and low for my gift aid donation card and it caused me no end of grief - I've put it somewhere safe along with a pile of other cards I apparently can't leave the house without. The lovely lady who runs the shop has now set an area aside for my donations as she has to look up the code required until I find it.Better is good enough.0
