Hi,
Can anyone advise if the Santander 123 is a good account?
The Google reviews are absolutely abysmal, majority rating this account with 1 star.
Thanks.
John

Hi taxidermist
Our Bank Accounts guide may help.
Martin also blogged on it but there have been changes since then so make sure you read the updates: Does the Santander 123 3% interest beat the top cash Isa?
Could you do with a Money Makeover?

I have this account. 3% interest and good customer service in my opinion. I would recommend it.0

I'm in it for the 3% - I don't need customer service.
As an aside, in general I find that people who complain about poor customer service are far too often actually complaining about the bank's inability to undo the customer's cockups accurately and in no time at all with minimal information and input! The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

I'm willing to put up with a little bit of bad service for the 3% int and the DD cashback.
I did get some bad service briefly but was given £30 for my trouble so I cant complain too much

Another happy customer here. I have one of these, mainly for the cashback but also for the excess cash that won't go in one of my 5% or 4% current accounts. Never needed to contact customer service by phone or online but went in-branch once and everyone was lovely.
Santander had a terrible reputation a few years ago but have now dramatically improved. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Only had an account since February but no complaints here at all. The 3% on £20000 is great and DD cashback is an added bonus. Any calls I have had to make to customer services have been dealt with efficiently and pleasantly.
The only (very minor) issue I've had so far is that payments to new payees can take around 24 - 48 hours to process (due to security check I think). But really not a big deal for me.0 -

I keep it topped up to the £20,000 so get about £40 month in interest & cashback from them. Customer service is awful, I pay in cheques at the post office, when I ask for envelopes & credit slips they say "that facility is not available with this account". It's usually the third person I speak to who knows what I'm talking about.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

But if you are paying in your cheques at the Post Office then it's customer service from the Post Office that's the problem and not Santander's own customer service, is it not?0
