Worth checking feedback they have left for others and checking with other sellers. No reason not to confirm their address.
The impression i get from this sort of request apart from what Soolin has already pointed out is that the implication is you are lying .
With any of my ebay orders i only have to view the order to know the address the seller has been given is correct. I see no need to confirm what i already know the seller has in front of them.0 -

I see what you're saying, but I've had several buyers give me wrong, outdated addresses. So had I not checked, I'd have sent a replacement to the wrong address.0 -

I understand where your coming from, maybe its about the wording more than anything else.
Maybe a better way would be can i just confirm your address is [what ever address seller has ]
I know from past experience when ive enquired where my item is,that the tone and wording although not explicit are almost accusatory which puts my back up instantly.0 -

The amount of incorrect addresses on eBay is relatively excessive, if you the seller say was your address such and such and it isn't because they've moved then the buyer just says "that's correct and I want a refund" (not that I would give them one).In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -

This is why I get the buyer to confirm their address.0 -

In that case once buyer realises what they have done if they are in the slightest bit dodgy they will just confirm the address you have and insist on a refund.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. We'll have to agree to disagree - I've had a few who have apologised, admitted they made a mistake, and gone away again.0

But if their dodgy they are going to lie whatever you say and thankfully most buyers are honest.
If an item doesnt turn up then i would expect a refund.0 -

We only replace.
The issue here is not if people are dodgy, it is that some people no longer wish to accept responsibility for their actions so perfectly normal people who act as we all would expect in their day to day life make a mistake and sadly too many think they can just pass that mistake over to someone else, after all we appear to be big company and the whole process has been faceless so who cares right? In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0
