It sounds boring but for the last couple of years we have mostly given our boys money to put towards music/games etc They get something small such as chocolate as well, but they don't seem to want anything else. Sometimes mugs/books related to things they are interested in go down well.

My boys are 13,17 and 19 years old.

DS2 would buy sweets sweets and more sweets.. Something I am trying to avoid. He cannot be trusted to eat proper food and would survive on sweets given the opportunity.. all 9 stone of him!

Pigpen I would suggest money too, for the jan sales. Have they got decent headphones to keep all that gaming noise to themselves? X

Really ought to go get dressed...

Yes I got the 4 older ones headphones last year.. skullcandy ones reduced massively from over £100 ... DD3 wears hers ALL the time and they stop the 2 boys arguing.. they don't have to listen to each others music :D

    Morning all.

Its going to be a busy day in here today, mainly admin but busy all the same. Think I'm going to start with an HHC-ish of flying in the kitchen. I want to get the scouse on, wash up etc then I'll keep going until 10am in the rest of the house as there are lots of hot spots growing. At 10am I need to sit down and get on with work. I have 3 days of work to do in one but I know I'll get annoyed with myself and won't be able to concentrate if the basics in the house aren't done :o

    Monday:
    Ironing - slowly going down
Accounts - personal done, still need to do work ones but I have them written down so they just need putting into the software I use
    Homework - Stuff due Wednesday

    Tuesday:
HH knitting x 4 minimum 2 done! Loads more needed though.
Find some recipes I know I have lurking which I got from these forums :o
    Shredding x 4 lots.
Dig out winter blankets & freshen them up as my bedroom is freezing despite the radiator being on full :(
    Phone bank to arrange appointment.

    Wednesday:
    Clear previous day lists
    Homework
Write C-mas lists for non-DD peeps
HH planning my window for C-mas :DI bought a new colouring book the other week especially for this :D
HH me time - try to clear 1 magazine from pile.
Grab 1st post lists and start working through. ;)

    Thursday:
Work (Pay invoice, sort orders, write up personal & business orders, enter orders on system, update accounts software, prepare books)
Scouse in the SC (meat & onions am, veg pm as DD won't eat "soggy" veg as she puts it)
    Tidy through house
Start next Mr A in person list - got cash out last night so I'm not getting a delivery this week but will need to go and get packed lunch stuff before Monday.

Right, best shift myself. Putting some music on and then into the kitchen!
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
  • Morning all, DD collected her ipod yesterday (only second hand) she's over the moon and i've spent most of the morning putting songs on for her. :D

Need to get loads of flying done this morning as someone coming out round the house at lunch time.

DS3 feeling loads better today but DS2 very rough. Fingers crossed DS3 will be back at school tomorrow.

Hope all poorlies are feeling better soon xx

Well I've just done an hour in the conservatory :)

It looks presentable. I can see the floor. Windowsills have been wiped. Toys have been rehomed. New lego space is organised. Just need to vac and take a few things upstairs, then I have a magazine rack full of drawn on paper and colouring books that I need to sort through.

Just having a hot drink and then I'll start in the kitchen... Then paid stuff.

Cattysmum, this article suggests using a raw potato! I have never tried it myself, so no guarantees that it will work.

But PLEASE be careful and ensure that the light is switched off and preferably remove the lighting circuit fuse from the fuse box (or flick the appropriate switch on a modern consumer unit) first, whatever you do - we don't want you electrocuting yourself :eek:

Fairly up to date with flying, and feeling exhausted today.

I have added to the recycling collection, so loads of cardboard has gone. I have also done the online shopping.

I did venture into town yesterday, with three huge bags for Oxfam, so bedroom looking clearer.

Apart from giving DD a lift to uni later, and a few bits of shopping in Sainsbury, I intend to take it easy. I'm one of a group organising a teacher training session on Saturday, so will make sure all printing is done for that, and that I have downloaded and updated all the apps on the iPad ready! That takes ages. Especially trying to recall my username and password for Google :p

Kitchen done, including veg in slowcooker for later. I'm trying a throw it together recipe for cauliflower, broccoli and leek cheesy bake. Nom. Not that the kids will eat it...

DD doesn't want any lunch. Hardly surprising, she has been nibbling all morning. I'm going to have some soup.

Also done an hour paid stuff. Will do another hour later.
