Can A Mobile Network Stop Renewing A Contract?

I've currently got a really good contract with Three, but it's come to an end and they no longer offer the deal.

2000 mins, 5000 texts, 5000 3 to 3 minutes and unlimited data and unlimited tethering for £15 a month.

Does Three have the right to stop renewing the contract as it's currently on a 30 days rolling contract and if so how much notice will they give?

They offered me an upgrade to less of everything for £10 more a month, is that allowed?

Yes, once the minimum term is up either party can stop the contract on 30 days notice.

I assume you have the One plan with unlimited tethering, that Three seem to be moving everyone off.

I gather you must have missed the multi page thread about changes the one plan?

You will get MORE minutes, MORE texts, the SAME internet on your phone, but less tethering.

Or you can cancel, its your choice!! Perfectly legal, just as you are entitled to cancel.
  • Why would the law allow the customer to cancel after the minimum period and deny the same to the supplier? Get real!
  • Is "get real" really necessary? Once again this forum just turns to rudeness.

But to be fair people ask really really stupid questions.

I've seen mention of a One Plan customer apparently being offered unlimited calls, text and data with a 4GB tethering limit, for £15 per month.

I am currently on a SIM only One Plan at £18 per month. I've not had a text, call or e-mail asking me to call them.

Did you have an offer like the one mentioned above for a similar amount of money? There is a lot of hot air about the ending of the One Plan on this forum, but little in the way of feedback as to what 3 may be offering existing One Plan customers
  • I do wonder if they've breached advertising rules in that they have been promoting "4g for free" and I can't see how that would be true if they are saying to people we're ending your contract and putting you on a more expensive one with less features.

So what is the charge to add 4G to an account on Three?

I think what they will be moving everybody on to is 200 Mins AYCE Texts and AYCE Data without tethering for £15 per month.

This is considerably WORSE than the old plan ignoring the tethering!
    1800 minutes worse off!
