car insurance bumped up
Hi there can anyone help,
My gf recently passed her test went to get a new car last sunday got it insured and thought grand all done and dusted, today she received a call from them stateing she had to pay a extra 150pound on her insurance cos she had made a claim.
now the situation with the claim is she was rear ended by a pick up truck on her driving lessons and her instructor claimed from his insurance obviously he put her down as bin in the car,the claim is in the process of bin settled.
now my question is can they just bump it up just like that when it wasnt a claim against her??
Many thanks

It's a claim irrespective of liability, it sucks but that's the way it is - non fault claims can put your price up.0

Wheelie or pedal?
Did she make a claim for anything? Whiplash etc?Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
Yes she claimed for whiplash but through the insurance of the driver who was at fault.
I thought the bumped his insurance up not hers lol
many thanks0 -

You thought wrong then. The question is "have you been involved in any accidents or claims in the last 3/5 years?". She has, and should have declared so.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
Tbh I dont think it actually asked that question as I was stood with her when she went through it.
many thanks0 -
Congratulations, you have found the only insurance company ever not to ask about previous claims0

Of course they asked about previous claims - you just didn't realise the full extent of the question.
She possibly said NO as she was perfhaps thinking of claiming on her insurance.
Welcome to the wonderful world of car insurance.
She claimed - it doesn't matter whose policy she claimed on.
Sorry to tell you that - but that's how it is.
Be thankful they didn't cancel her policy for telling porky pies.0
