I ordered Minecraft cake too and didn't get the cake. How awful it must be for their system to screw the orders over and over! I definitely not gonna recommend this Newcakes.co.uk to anyone and from now on I will write bad reviews on any site that would link to this cake company.

Don't know if this is of any help but I have contact trading standards about our "experience" with this company and they are looking into it, they also told me about a service called switch back which most banks now apparently offer and it may mean for the sake of a call to your bank and a little investigation by them they offer to refund you your money....worth a shot guys if your out of pocket. I would also ask you to make a formal complaint re this company as they should not be allowed to take anybody for a ride and intentionally rip people off.

I think you are talking about chargeback.

There is an MSE article on chargeback which may help.

Anyone considering making a complaint may like to read MSE's How to Complain article.

Anyone wanting to complain directly to Trading Standards may find this CAB webpage useful:

I think it is time to do what needs to be done, this kind of scam company should not be allowed to stay on the social network , it is time someone do something and take this website down. I will do what I could as suggested from both Gjs and Whealdroam below.

  • DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!

I bought the 'Handbag' cake for £59.00 from here (which ironically they don't advertise anymore) and it literally looked nothing like the cake on the website. I complained over a week ago and haven't even received an acknowledgement from them.

I wish I could easily upload photo's here, as you have to laugh at the images side by side....Its just awful! Iv'e yet to write review on their website, but there is literally no point as it just gets deleted.

I cant even tell you the embarrassment I came under when people (who had financially contributed) looked at me like I went elsewhere to buy a cheaper cake, and ripped them off. Its all settled now, but Jesus did I want to die then and there. All because they have extremely and shockingly low and poor quality control.

Thus as a lawyer, I sent them a classic misrepresentation complaint, which it inherently is! And asked them for compensation which I am legally owed. I am still waiting....

Why would anyone buy a cake for a special occasion online? Surely if you are paying for an expensive cake for a special event it would it would be practical to use a local bakery / cake maker?

Terrible experience. Cake arrived damaged, poorly made, nothing like I had requested, missing elements, wrong colours and unbelievably amateurish. Clearly made by a person who has no regard for quality of finished product or pride in their work. Company attitude was terrible, never apologised for damage or poor quality, no time to get another cake sent before party. I had to spend another £30 getting someone to fix it. No time for me to get another cake and company refused to give me a refund unless I returned to cake for them to throw in the bin which obviously I couldn't do as I needed to patch it up for the party.

OK, so it's NOT the supplier in question, but you'll have an enjoyable half-hour reading the blog :)

Why did you not use someone local or better yet make your own cake but keep it simple with its design.
