A later good morning, I went back to bed and managed about 3 hours sleep, but feel like something the cat dragged in, might have a nap after lunch.
Cleaned the bathroom and have a pot of soup on. OH has just made me a cuppa, when I have drunk that I will be heading for the vacuum and duster. We have a chinese rug in the sitting room and it seems to be stretching I think its because OH's chair is half on and half off, am going to swap the lamp thats behind hid chair onto a small table and try and get the rug so there is no furniture on it at all, can then dust and hoover the sitting room. I will have to find a new home for the printer, but think I may have sussed that when I was awake last night............... I do feel like a piece of chewed sritng right now.
SCUZZ I don't know whats going on, but get your money back pronto, its easy to be wise after the event, but really you shouldn't have lent it to him, but.............its your money.............
To any of you who are still suffering after the storms and floods, ((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))))

Hi guys ,just dropped in to say whats the weather like in Torquay my eldest DD is off there for a weeks break with husband and kids tonight .They are going to the place that origanally refused to cancel her holiday as she wasn't sure when I would be in hospital .Now she has a date she is O.K. to go, and when she phoned the people up they were as nice as pie to her and said 'We look forward to seeing you and how's your Mother's health' It's amazing what the words 'Watchdog' and 'Media' do to some folk isn't it They had told her that as it was only three weeks away from her holiday and not four they would charge her 80% of the weeks stay ,around £811.00 if she cancelled .She replied that she was 'Sorry that her Mum hadn't been diagnosed a week sooner for them!!'
No one mess's with my kid .She is only 5ft nothing but she is a feisty little lass. :j
She's the same with the local education comitee, she is a school manager for a special-needs local school, and she fights the local council for every shilling she can get for the children there. Local education authorities tend not to want to spend a lot of cash on the special-needs round this area of Kent. But if there is a grant going, or extra money available my kid gets stuck in with both feet ,bless her .
I do hope she has a good rest as when she comes home she will be fussing around me even though she has to go to East Grinstead to have a dodgy mole removed from her knee a week after my op.
I really don't know what I would do without her . I am hoping once we are both on the mend we and her sister can have a good week-end away in Paris as a treat .Her sister is a very hard-working Mum of five, who also runs around helping everyone in sight .I am so lucky to have them, they are the best legacy that my husband left me.
Hope eveyones day goes well.So far no rain yet in North Kent0 -
Scuzz (hugs to you) I can identify with the lack of sleep thing as last night my bf couldnt contact me as his mobile wouldnt charge and I was worried sick. Im feeling absolutely exhausted and anything mildly difficult or emotional I simply cannot deal with.
My bf got a call from the CSA again yesterday and ended up rowing with the guy over the phone, it seems this employee has taken it on his head to be chief judge and jury and accused my bf of refusing a DNA test which he has never done and infact had no contact with them at all at the time they have said there was a refusal. Fortunately his chief clerk is on his side and apparently put them in their place, there is a new caseworker involved now and the military have said they will stand by him all the way.
I feel glad he now has someone at work that understands and supports him, he also has another friend on camp that saw him through the period when the accusation first came up 5 years ago.
My bf is being totally understanding about how I feel in all this. I cant really explain how I feel. It doesnt make him a different person and I know ive blanked out while drunk but fortunately only stole a few drinks off people. He doesnt want anything to do with the mother or child if it is true which is previously what she had said anyway. So maybe it wont affect us, there is no reason it should other than the financial comittment.
He sounds like a scoundrel and I would hate others to think that of him. He knows he was immature but he has never cheated on a girl, slept around or knowingly not used protection. He was never a rebel but has always saught to be loved as his family are so distant. This has undoubtedly caused the marriage failure he is now going through and he has fallen for some viscous women.
The mother says she believes he is still the father so it looks like a DNA test will be carried out to try and resolve this.
Hugs to anyone else who needs it, why cant life just be simple?0 -
*sigh*
I can't believe it!
I called my docs to get another sick note - he said he would give me another one when I got the last one. Got a call back from the Office Manager saying that 'my' doc has just told her that he couldn't write another sick note as I have been removed from the practice - we moved a few days before I broke my foot; but he had said that we could stay at the practice.
My head hurts! He had sent a referral yesterday to the BUPA doc, but today can't be my doctor anymore??
So I spent 45 minutes looking for the right phone number for the local surgery, to be told they aren't accepting patients, and to phone the PCT. PHone htem and ......................... they refer me to the local surgery. Call them back, with referral number, so now , yes they will accept me. Growl. Off in a taxi, get the taxi to wait, get registered, now have to wait until Monday to get the sick note.
Just once, I'd like my life to go smoothly. Is that too much to ask?0 -
Dia Dhibh!
JackieO, good luck to-morrow, yes you are lucky to have such caring daughters, I feel the same about my whole family...when anyone is in need of whatever, they are all there...its a wonderful security blanket, isn't it?
Scuzz...I really feel for you, not sure how much money is involved and in principal would agree with making the b****rd pay every last cent, but it might be better just to get him out of your life for ever! Make a new life for yourself and head off to Disney if you feel it will help, you don't have to sign in blood that you will stay for ever, although it might be better in the long run to stay put...only you can decide.
Boo...think that DNA test is easiest way out of this for OH...he will then know how he is situated...support or not, I do think that it is sad that he is not prepared to have anything to do with the child if it does prove to be his, but that is his decision and whatever his decision is you will have to see how you can cope with it. Try not to worry as that will just stress you out and not help anyone, you least of all.
Odds...good luck with your appointment, take it easy.
Annie....thinking of you, be strong and deal with it...you know that you can
Going in a short while to meet DD2 and DGD1 at Dublin Airport....it is a 25 minute drive with not traffic, may take over an hour each way as road is being widened. Lamb, turnip, celery and mash and something with apple as I took a large box out of the freezer yesterday and when it thawed it proved to be stewed apple from last year...very pleased as we are starting to use the larger apples at the moment...there is a huge crop so hopefully will make it easier on the branches.
Hugs to everyone else, especially those in need...should do a post at the end of each page to make it easier to remember! Anyone in trouble because of flooding definitely deserves a hug or three....clean knickers or not!

Good afternoon all :hello:
(((HUGS))) odds n sods - what a carry on you are having.
Well I have spent most of this morning on the phone sorting out a car rental for my holidays. I have been hiring a car from Enterprise on and off over the last couple of months and they said they would do me a special deal  well their special deal worked out more expensive than I what have already been paying
I asked why and they said it is because they price matched my weekly rate but they couldnt do that now as I have hired so much from them. So much for customer loyalty. I have booked one with somebody else for less but took all morning to phone around
In between all of that I have managed to get 2 rooms done ok so they were the smallest easiest rooms I am now going to get into the shower as there was no hot water earlier - but at least I am lucky enough to have water

meanmarie - you have to bear in mind that he didnt even know the mothers last name, he got drunk at a party and allegedly slept with her. After that she persued him for money and bullied him into signing the birth certificate, I think he was only told when she had already had the child. I think its best he steers clear, whatever happened the mother isnt a nice person and was found guilty of comitting benefit fraud, he has had enough bullying from his wife and wants to steer clear. I agree its sad a child doesnt know their parent but I think in this case it is the best for all involved.0

On the money saving front, between DH and I, and the IL's I have managed to get away with not paying for ANY childcare this 6 weeks :j Which has saved me a massive £750, unfortunately this wasn't there in the first place so it's a *virtual* saving
I am determined to have all my ironing up to date by this evening - so I may be gone some time
Coming home from school there was a police car outside my house (fortunately not for me

Enjoy the rest of your day everyoneSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Hello everyone!
Well, this morning I went shopping, I needed a new pair of jeans-my old ones are far to big for me now and a new pair of trainers-I've glued the old ones five times and the glue just isn't holding anymore. I came back with neither of these, I was going to get my jeans in Next, but they are having a sale and I couldn't find my size or length. So, next to trainers, again I just couldn't find anything to fit me properly. The ones I liked weren't in the right sizes and I flat out refuse to pay more than £25 for trainers!
I did however get a free upgrade for my phone and managed to get a better service plan for only a few pounds more a month. I now have over three times my minutes to use
I also popped into hobbycraft (such a sucker for their sales) and bought some lovely Christmas stickers for cards, some felt in many different colours, ribbon for making bookmarks and some more craft wire, now just need to find the energy to make something, I hurt my shoulder whilst sleeping and I can't move my right arm much, so will have to practice my left handed beading!Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650
