    Good morning all!

(((((hugs))))) to all - especially, but not exclusively, scuzz & tru

Well, it's sunny at the moment here, although the clouds are building up - just hope the washing gets dried before they decide to empty out.

I have my great-nephew here again, along with one of my nieces (his 13yo auntie) as his mum is still in hospital. He is an absolute sweetie, and I am going to take him to coffee morning to charm all the old ladies!!!! (and no doubt all the young ones, too!)
dlb - my sister is always wanting to be out, too, and couldn't stay home over the holidays, but was always going different places when her girls were small, often taking us too. My kids would have been just as happy building dens in the garden etc. The difference is, she has a car, so it didn't cause the same sort of problems.

Well, my little guest should be here shortly, so
    have a good day!

    Good morning everyone

(((hugs))) to scuzz, boo, anniestar and mrs mix.
tru glad things are improving (if slowly) for you. It seems that people today don't have the spirit of community that existed during the war. Lots of people seem to be out for themselves without a thought for anyone who may be in a worse position than them. At least you know who you can count on if (God forbid) it happens again.
charlies_mum good luck with the mice! I wouldn't be able to even go in the building. My DD thinks I am barking mad as she thinks mice, rats, et al are gorgeous, fluffy creatures.

I have woken up with sunburn today. I only sat out for half an hour yesterday to watch a "meet the birds" talk at Muncaster Castle. My legs are still a bit sore from all the exercise we have had this week - and its not over yet. We are going swimming shortly and then I need to pop into the office to get my salary cheque. After that I'm going to book tickets for the Simpsons Movie today. XDH wants to see it so we will all go together tonight. The afternoon is supposed to be lovely so I imagine that a walk around the docks will hit the spot.

I'm missing reading this site though. I only seem to have enough time to read this thread at the moment. Hopefully I can get some more reading done next week when DS and DD go to visit my family in Scotland for the week. Fingers crossed.

Have a wonderful welly-free Wednesday. xx

    Morning everybody :hello:

((((Hugs)))) to those who can't sleep/aren't feeling well/have no running water/are suffering at the hands of useless men or useless banks ;)

I am not working today, as I'm going to a funeral (of our assistant priest). I have to be at choir practice at 11am and then the funeral is at 12.

I have had an email from an opera-singer friend, offering me free tickets to the dress rehearsal this weekend of an opera which I have been desperately trying (and failing) to get tickets for :j :j :j The downside is that I was supposed to be doing something important that clashes with it  and I have to let a few people down in order to go :o Also I have to work out which of my friends to invite to come with me... a lot of them have been trying to get tickets for this...

I also have a MS job later which will pay me expenses for part of my normal weekly shop :D

    Must be off now
    Rzl xx

    Good Morning All

Yes its horrid weather, back to rain. I just hope the roads aren't too bad, as Ive got to drive to Birmingham today for DS hospital check up appointment.

First, Ihave to pop into town and pay the rent/council tax, and collect me new glasses.

So other than washing before I go and when I get back, nothing else will get done.

My babysitter brought her baby y-day, he's just over 3 wks old and adorable. I looked after him for a couple of hours when I finished work, so she could go shopping. I didn't want to hand him back! It certainly reminded me, how hard it is to have a newborn around!

    Anyway, best be off
    Have a great day all
    Take care

    Morning all

Just a quick visit as I'm meant to be writing a covering letter to go with a job application form. Wish me luck!

BargainRzl -do any of your friends have birthdays soon? Could be a nice birthday treat for someone? Otherwise, good luck choosing.

Going for a haircut at 11, doctors at 3, and helping out at my sisters work in between. They (Bon Marche at Skipton)are having a fundraising day for manorlands hospice today, being living mannequins in the window. I'm going to help with the tombola and refreshments. If you're in the area, bob in! (I'll be in black with green DM's, as usual...)

Right, best go get this letter done. Hugs to all who want/need them.

    Morning all,

((((hugs to those that need it))))

Well we lost water yesterday morning and the bowsers came out. I went up to get bottled water too - and went round to tell some pensioners I know about it too. Tru I'm with you. I feel like we've been careful with water - using rainwater etc for the loo, but the neighbour did 2 washloads yesterday morning! She's single, no kids, and could easily have delayed a week until we knew what the water situation was! So selfish. I admit, I'm glad I bought so many new knickers when we were in the US last year - I have a month's worth! Oohh - just realised OH isn't so well-stocked (uggh).

We've got water this morning so don't know whether we're coming or going. Not sure whether we should have a proper bathe or not!

Talking of being selfish - our rubbish didn't get picked up last week. I've been AMAZED at how much rubbish people put out - and how much is RECYCLABLE! The people at the back now have 2 wheely bins full, (2 adults, 2 kids under 7yrs old), and you can see that at least one is cans, bottles, cardboard. The town recycling bins are 35 paces from their front door!

No wonder the earth is kicking back at us all!

Little monster kept trying to suckle my finger knuckles last night. Kept me awake for ages. Then I realised he had no soft food down and was hungry. Wish I'd realised earlier - feel like yuk from no sleep!

    Morning All

<<Anniestar>>Make sure you *calmly* explain to your husband what you've been going through. Tell him you genuinely thought you were on the verge of divorce. It sounds like he's upset with you about something, and he hasn't a clue about how his behaviour has affected you.
    Rzl Congratulations on the tickets!
Aussie Your shopkeeper sounds like a right character! I remember reading some of the other examples of poor behaviour.
    PenPin Not long now!

Made some delicious breadmaker hot crossless buns yesterday. I don't make them very often, as I end up eating 10 of the 12 of them (DH manages to snaffle 2). This time I left 5 unglazed, and put them in the freezer as soon as they were cold; I also managed to restrict myself to 2 of the glazed ones yesterday. The remaining ones are calling me as I type.

I really fancy some Ginger Twinks, but I think I'll wait until the buns are gone. I;m having a bit of a sugar craving week really.

Spent some time lying on my backstretcher yesterday, and it really helped. I might try again later today as well.

Next door had another bonfire last night. At 11.30pm they were breaking up old doors to put on the flames.

Plans for today: quick tidy up. Might try and go to the Gym, haven't been for nearly three weeks and I'm losing my resolve. Need to find it PDQ.

Dinner tonight will be mutton casserole. Change of plan from original. I accidentally defrosted mutton stock instead of beef stock the other day, so I've changed the menu plan to use up the mutton stock.

    Rest depends on the weather.

<<Hugs>> to anyone else who needs one.

    Good morning all :hello:

(((HUGS))) to scuzz, annie, JackieO, tru and anybody else who I havent mentioned

Scuzz - I had problems getting money back out of an ex of mine so I told his mother what he was getting up to - soon got my money back and an apology.

Well after my complete in-decision this week about our holidays we are going camping in Devon ( still  ). Need to organise a rental car today and we are going on Friday afternoon. It looks like the weather is going to brighten up a bit from Tuesday next week onwards.
So today I am going to be cleaning to get the house ready to go away. DD is at a dance summer school today so its just me and the dog all day. I have 2 loads of washing to go on the line but will have to keep an eye on it. I need to cut the grass too but the ground is still squelchy.

Must get on - Im still in my dressing gown - catch up later
