Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 25th July 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all....
Well its 3.30am and I have not managed to get to sleep, so have given up and come into the sitting room, made a cuppa and am going to surf the web for a while. No idea whats keeping me awake, have been sleeping so much better recently, hope this is not a sign of things to come.
Nothing much to report except that it does not appear to be raining just now. Yesterday was a lovely warm sunny day, but its quite cool just now, forecast is for more rain later today....oh dear.....when is it going to stop and give all those poor people affected by the floods a break.

Goodmorning Csarina & all to follow,
Well we didn't get to the other island today as they are working on our jetty and all the ferries were canceled. They might be working again on Friday so will try then. Made some more bread this morning which was slightly a bit better than last attempt. Took Benny for his walk & plan on going into the garden shortly.
Dropped into the shop for some butter as I was going to make Twinks
tomorrow but Ol Sour Puss forgot to order some in so DH will have to get some when he goes to the dentist tomorrow. I refuse to buy margarine so will have to go butterless until then.
Hope you all have a lovely day. We buried Daisy today. We were going to wait for the boys return but the garden was ready. I planted her under rosemary which means rememberence. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Morning. Wet and dull in Cornwall. That means getting to work will be a nuicance as no one will be heading for beaches, just towns and congest everything up. Work soon , and the last packed lunches for ages....
I managed to weed the onion patch last night, so that was a bonus. Can't even see the carrots.... I hate this weather.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Morning - just woke up and guess what I could hear on the conservatory roof - yes you've guessed it rain! Only two more get-ups to Spain thank goodness, I need some sun.
Got the sewing repairs and ironing done yesterday, so packing I think is on the agenda today, together with a trip to pick up a new calor gas bottle ready for France. (only 4 days in between so need to be organised before I go to Spain). Beef joint to put in SC later.
(((hugs))) and celebrations all round
take care

Morning Guys!
Just waiting on "the call" from DD that she is nearly at the school. I soooooo need a cuddle off her:D ...might even stretch to a bacon butty from the local greasy spoon if she wants one
Our friend was holding our post whilst we were away and had a couple of goodies to come back too;) ....I had forgotten about a baby Hippo (sp) pack and this included 2 weaning spoons, bib, sachet of food, sachet of milk and a soft toy. This will all go in my friends baby basket I am doing for her. Also 2 x 30p vouchers as I am buying a couple of jars for party games. I also had a cheque from the OU for £187. Apparently, as I need the internet connection for most of my courses, they will pay for 9 months at a time:j :j :j :j ...this was from the last 9 months:beer:
I am abit miffed with The Woolwich. As it is closing down and everything moving to Barclays, I thought it would run smoothly. I now have no online banking as this has closed on the website now and have still not received my cards or chequebooks. I can still use the others but I need the new 16 digit card number to access my new account on the Barclays website. Such a pain in the bum.
Had an email from the lady at the bungalow last night and she has offered 8 nights for the price of 7 as we left the bungalow so clean and tidy...so thats another £40 saved. I am going to use £150 of the above rebate to pay towards the cost and pay the rest cash when we arrive there in December.
Anyway, I am babbling on now.
Hugs to all.

Bore Da!
raining again, what a novelty. I made the most of the Summer yesterday and did the washing and walked a lot. Doesn't hurt so much when the sun is out.(Please imagine a smily here - I always forget to choose 'advanced').
I am up early as OM (back safe from N Wales) is snoring so I can't sleep. Shall try and make the best of it by cooking - we've invited friends round to help empty the freezer by offering a 'pot luck' supper. Almost wish I had looked inside first.... this is white-knuckle OSing!
Mum will be round later for coffee and chat, but she gave me one of those startling and surreal moments:
'I want to tell you about my angels'
she said and for a moment I thought she was having visions;
'Angels?'
I was tempted to imagine her as an elderly Joan of Arc but could not decide what sort of crusade she would lead - against the new road works? free slippers for the elderly? she has so many strong opinions.
Would she ride a horse and wear armour? Or would she start acting like the TV psychics? No, she is far too suspicious.
I fell back into reality when she told me she is going to bead some angels for Christmas decorations. Lovely, but not so much fun!
Started holiday packing by sorting out the toiletries etc. Books next, then sweeties and pens for the kids... and a few clothes as an after thought!
Have a great day if you can. Thinking of those in the floods, those who are unwell and those who need friends.
(((((HUGS)))))I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -

Morning
:grouphug: to everyone affected by the flooding, hope it stops raining soon
Work today, and the girl I am working with phoned last night to say we have mice in the office  we are both terrified of mice, and don't know how we will cope. She is going to tuck her trousers into her socks, and we are having a shovel ready in case we have to splat one - I know it's cruel, but it's them or us :rotfl:
Just defrosted some sausages and will do sausage casserole in the slow cooker for dinner - I am going to call for a bottle of wine on the way home, I figure after battling with those mice all day, I deserve it
Have a good day everyone xYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever
