I'm sorry if this is an insensitive question, so say if you'd rather not talk about it, but why did you stop your three hours of work a week? Was it bad health, or stress, or because DH needed you at home? I just wondered as losing that £80 a month has obviously had an impact upon your finances.

I do know what it's like to worry about money all the time and it's not nice :(.

    Not insensitive at all.
I worked on a Saturday 4-7pm. I had to have everything organised before I left for work in terms of what the boys would have for tea/need while I was out. MiL came round ‘to babysit’ while I was out which DH and the boys weren’t overly keen on, and I always felt the need to spend the day tidying before she came. More often than not, DS2 had some party or other to attend on a Saturday which made it more difficult to organise, and DH usually worked himself into a flap about his Mum coming. MiL then started going out quite a bit on a Saturday night so couldn’t come round, which pleased DH but made me very nervous leaving them all (DH had a couple of seizures that the boys had to deal with alone, and I worried that it was the stress of ‘being in charge that attributed to them. DS1 told me he didn’t want the responsibility if MiL couldn’t come round :(). On top of that, as much as I enjoyed the banter with the girls, I worked on the busiest shift and my feet literally didn’t touch the floor. Not good for my foot problem (plantar fasciitis) and it was getting really bad to the point where I could hardly walk. More and more people left the department without being replaced, and I ended up doing the work of 3 or 4 people. I had countless holiday requests refused as there was no one else, and the whole thing became more stress than benefit. I also felt that I was doing ‘top up shops’ after work that I probably would have managed without had I not been there anyway, so I was spending as much as I earned sometimes .

I should probably look for something else, perhaps while the boys are in school, but anything I earn over £20 will be taken back off me, so I need to find something suitable Xx

It's awful worrying about money, been there myself when the kids were young, wish this site had been around then.

For the moment just concentrate on getting through one week at a time or you'll drive yourself mad worrying about the rest.

    Big hugs xx

I can’t think of anyone Mrs H, but it’s a good idea and I’ll suggest it to him incase he can think of anyone. He’s decided against town tomorrow, so at least that’s one less thing to worry about Xx

    Hi Wannabe :A.

I’m ok thanks. I think :rotfl:.

Had a quiet day yesterday, mainly in the house. DH spent a lot of the time asleep :(. Today we used some of the cinema tickets I won, and saw Avengers Endgame. I used 3 of the tickets for DH and the boys, plus I got in free as Carer so saved £30 . Still have an extra ticket for next time we go too. Film was good but too much talking and not enough action in it for DS2 . DS2 was then invited to go rock pooling with his friend and his family tonight, so had a fab time. Came back soaked and freezing though so was dunked straight in the bath!!
