  • I was also the worst mother in the world the other day when I wouldn't drive a 12mile round trip to pick up DD after she decided to go into town after school with a friend, the fact that she could get the bus and use her school bus pass to get on for free seemed not to matter, I was the worst mum ever for making her wait at a bus stop for 10 mins and didn't I know she had things to do:mad: (like I don't). Even her brother told her she wasn't the bl**dy queen and to wind her neck in :rotfl:. The joy of teenagers :(.

Great news about the discount code, agree that the prices are scary:eek:.
  • Lol Penny, your DS hit the nail on the head there!! Hope you did make DD get the bus!

Knew I shouldn’t have been all happy that things were going right. An eBay buyer hasn’t received an item so I’ve had to refund them and open a case with the Post office. So I’m down £25 until the Post Office (hopefully) refund me.

There's always something - gets on your nerves doesn't it :( Hopefully all will be sorted, still annoying though :(
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Today has been a NSD :T. DS1 announced he needs a better scientific calculator as the one his maths teacher told them to get isn’t good enough for the science teacher , so have reserved one at @rgos to collect and pay tomorrow using LvTS voucher. £9 :(. Have also ordered a Christmas present from there so the full amount of the voucher (£15) can be spent in one go.

  • When I paid for the calculator, I discovered the Lv2S voucher was ‘only’ for £10 :( I had it in mind it was £15 :(. Nevermind, I got the extra present anyway :o.

Got a call from school at 10am this morning that DS1 was poorly with tummy pains so I had to go back and pick him up :(. Think they were worried it might be something more like bullying as he was quite upset, but having spoken to him i think it was just pain coupled with panic that he might have an ‘accident’. He seems ok now so fingers crossed whatever it was is out of his system.

Auction for ‘pee-gate’ bag ended last night with no bids, so it has automatically relisted. Another item also ended with no bids, but has since had a bid, so at least that one will sell after next weekend. I need to list more things though to try and avoid another desperate week like we just had.

Dont worry my dd always swore she was adopted. :jIf only when she was a teen.

I was convinced I was adopted as a child!
I’d enjoy it more if the stroppy teen didn’t hate me. Apparently he wishes I was never his Mum. :(.

    The joys of parenting. Xx

I remember when I was a teen very calmly telling my mum I hated her :( Once i hit my early twenties our relationship improved and now we have a fantastic close relationship but I would give anything to take the words back as I could see straight away how much it hurt her but was too proud to apologise :o
  • The £45 in HC goes a lot further if you buy 'selectors' rather than the expensive boxes. Same number of chocolates and you can trailer to the tastes of the recipients and wrap them prettily for a lot less. Have a look on the website and search on 'selectors' as they seem to have hidden them this year. 3 for £10 gives them 18 chocolates and a nice stack to tie a ribbon round.

All of the florentine based ones are mine.

When the maths teacher suggested they only needed a scientific calculator from £land I was over the moon. It was September and I was skint after buying all the uniform etc. 2 months later and the Science teacher says they need something better :(. Not sure whether to be pleased that I didn’t have to find the money back in September, or be upset that I need to buy it 5 weeks before Christmas!!

Oh bless, I’m sure it’s well forgotten now and it will be bothering you more than your Mum. So lovely to hear of your close relationship these days.
I never once thought I was adopted. I look too much like my Dad for that. Everyone used to say I was his spitting image.

Thank you so much for that Redo. I shall certainly investigate but I do solemnly swear to leave the florentines well alone :rotfl:.
