Hi Lucky - another thought for Mr Lucky - how about a tick chart or table that can be pinned onto a notice board in the kitchen, say with the hours on one side and his feelings on another, then all he has to do is tick a box (hope you know what I mean!). I would count a no spend day as a day when no cash has come out of my purse and no cards have been used, it never happens to me!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Yup, that's how I think of NSDs too.0 -
Crikey this NSD is mighty confusing - I did have a read on the NSD thread but they don't have any hard and fast rules either.
The way I am doing it is because DH and I have completely separate finances and we pay a set amount in to different accounts to cover food, bills, household, animals, kids things, petrol etc. I have only a 50% say in how these are spent so the only thing I have control over is what's left so I am counting just what I spend from my own personal account.
I also happen to be mentioning any other spends so at the end of the month if I change my mind about how I log NSD's I have the info to hand.
I think the main thing is if you are happy with how you work it then that is fine.0 -
I only count unplanned spends as such. Any planned spends, such as chub club
would not count, nor does diesel as I have a monthly allowance for that. Only if I go over my set allowance does it count.

Hi! I am the same with NSD - otherwise it would be impossible not to have any, and much like you I would like oh never mind I will just pick up x y z at the same time! x

Thanks for all the input guys, I think basically the rule seems to be 'whatever works for you'!! My main rule is as Mrs H, SA and Robin say, anything spent means no NSD and that is what goes for every day Wed through to Monday. On a Tuesday only, a NSD will mean no money spent apart from weigh in money, as I really found it helped yesterday. I literally only spent the £4.95, so I'm claiming the NSD. I bring one of my neighbours home from class each week so she usually buys my raffle ticket for me, yesterday I won a free week with it, so next Tuesday really can be a true NSD if I don't spend anything else!!
On the subject of SW, I stayed the same this week which I am very happy with after 3 bad days and a so-so day. Went back to the gym this morning and being really good, so I'm hoping for a good loss this week. I'm also going to Clubbercise tomorrow night because the girl's broken leg is all fixed.
Today has not been a NSD as I had to do more food shopping. I only really went for fruit, yogurt and cereal but thought as I was spending anyway I'd get a few more bits so we didn't need anything else before next week's budget starts again on Saturday. Ended up spending £26.12 (and that was after 10% discount!!), so with the £76 spends already this week, I've gone £2.12 over my maximum £100 budget. Don't feel like we've been extravagant either, so I will definitely have to look at ways to reduce this.
DH is very tired tonight and is Mr Angry.

Lucky that is my month every month with the food. It all leaks out in the first few days
the only thing that stop me is a simple and effective meal plan. Never too ambitious. This week I made it ambitious and it is currently bad food 3 - meal plan 0.
Sorry DH is Mr Angryhas he got a diary yet? Can he put it into words?
Yay for staying the same. I am still eating spiced gingerbread and stollen but I was pleased when I could get my trousers up and zip them this morning :rotfl: - I wore all black to disguise my middle. I genuinely thought people would think I was pregnant I have put so much weight on. New SW club opening nearby on a Thursday night here. May just have to do it.
And btw, is the dahl from Mr A's any good then?!?! xx

Lilt, the dahl from Mr A is quite nice on it's own, but I also use it as an ingredient to make butternut squash, sweet potato and chick pea curry which is delish!
DH doesn't think he's been angry at all tonight, even after examples have been given. I genuinely think he's just tired. DS2 was watching something on Yoootube and DH couldn't concentrate on the tv so he had a bit of a meltdown. It was easily solved (by me) by giving DS2 some headphones, but you would have thought the world was ending for DH the way he went on. He has calmed down again now but think we will go to bed soon.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
