  • Thank you both :A. I tried my dress etc on earlier and it looks quite nice :o. I'd been worried it suddenly wouldn't fit .

Got the dreaded 'your DLA is about to run out so please either apply for PIP or disappear' letter today :(. Rang and started the PIP ball rolling straight away. It's so wrong that I feel like it will be a battle despite DH being a genuine case :(.

Had my eyebrows tinted today :T and now it looks like I actually have some :rotfl:. £6 well spent!

Sky came and fitted a new dish/box for free this morning. Our last one was 15 years old so they emailed to say they thought we deserved a new one! We only have the most basic package but I dread to think how much we've paid them in 15 years, so too right we deserve a new one!! We can now record things too :T.

Off out tonight with some Mum's from school to see the spiritualist that once gave me a fab message from my Dad. Fingers crossed we get a message this time too!

I'm so glad Mr SA started out on PIP, I've heard so many horror stories about changing from DLA. Good luck although I'm sure you'll get sorted quickly.

Great that the dress looks better than you thought :). I had my eyebrows tinted the other week, mine are so blonde they're non-existent. For the first few days they looked like two wayward caterpillars but calmed down after a couple of days and look more normal now.

Hope you get what you want out of tonight.

How fantastic about the sky box PLMBL, that seems like really great service to me. I've never got Sky as we have Amazon P which I love.

I've never had my eyelashes tinted but it sounds like a really good idea and very good value for money. I'm sure you look beautiful. I'm glad you tried the dress on again and realised how wonderful you look! My son's wedding is only three weeks away now and I'm getting back on track with WW after a serious wobble.

I wish you tons of success with your application for PIP. I cannot believe how cruel this govt is to people like your DH with genuine disabilities and hope you get assessed by someone sensible.

Have a good evening and 'see' you tomorrow.
With family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!

  • Hi lucky just to let you know that PIP is assessed in a different way from DLa. You need to take a look at the descriptors, people are scored according to their ability to do certain activities. Google them or I think you can find them on the citizens advice website. If you can get help from a welfare rights organisation that's good. Also supporting medical letters particularly if they can focus on your oohs difficulties in managing tasks without help. You don't get that long to complete the form but you can ask for an extension. Also you can send in supporting evidence afterwards if necessary. There is also a phrase that the activities need to be able be completed regularly, reliably and repeatedly - or something like that so I would recommend at least seeing what you can find online as tips to complete the form. All the best.
  • Thanks everyone, lovely to have so much support and well wishes :A.

When The Going Gets Tough, I can't thank you enough! I've just googled the discriptors/scoring and you need to score 8+ for standard rate or 12+ for enhanced. Erring on the side of caution, I can't see DH scoring less than 15 (if they are really harsh) in the Daily Living bit, and 12 on the motability section. I'm much more relaxed now - well, a bit anyway!

So the boys have finished for half term now, as tomorrow is teacher training day :T. We can book into the hotel from 2pm tomorrow, so the plan is to go there for then and go swimming in the hotel pool to wear the boys out. We then have a meal at 6pm for everyone staying on the Friday night and hopefully a fairly early night. Sis gets married at 11.30am on Saturday, so it'll be an early start.

Last night was good. I didn't get a message but my bestie did :T.

I have started my Christmas shopping! Used the free £10 Arg0s voucher that I got when buying my new hoover to get a £16.99 item for £6.99 :D.
