  • Thanks Beanie.

We are currently in the middle of a massive thunderstorm - biggest and best one I've ever seen! Hard to believe a few hours ago we were having lunch in the garden in scorching sunshine!

Went to Mr T's this morning and spent almost £90 . Fridge and freezer have been fully restocked though, and some shorts and t-shirts purchased for DS1 who is growing by the second. Age 13-14 clothes now and he's only 10 . My Dad was super tall though and I have basket ball players for cousins, so I assume he takes after them. Anyway, found £1 roadkill in Mr T's too :T.

This afternoon we went to DS2's open afternoon at school which was lovely.

DH doesn't seem any worse for wear after his restless night.

Well done on the weightloss. Ref the card you are trying to pay off, would your parents sub you the money if they knew it would get you out of paying interest?

It's a nice idea Chev, but my Mum isn't flush (due to her mega social life and several holidays per year :D) and MiL already does so much for us I don't like to ask her. Part of what I owe in my debt total is a loan from my Sister, so I certainly can't ask her, not least because I want to try to pay her back what I already owe by March when she has to pay the balance of her wedding.

  • Observation one - I need to get me one of those old fashioned type ring dial phones for emergencies/future loss of power.

Observation two - I need to charge my phone more often during the day rather than only in the evenings/through the night.

Observation three - Just because one eb@y parcel has potentially got lost in the post (:(), it does not mean I should abandon selling on eb@y altogether. (Trying to believe myself with this one!!).

Alternatively, does DH have a mobile, did his have power? Annoying though the power outage was, it has usefully highlighted the importance of ensuring your phone is charged. Do you have an in-car charger? That would have worked in an emergency. Forward planning - perhaps ask for a solar powered or wind up charger as a Christmas gift.

You are doing brilliantly well, Lucky, and it looks like you'll clear your debts completely by next year and can then start a fund for a holiday!
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Lucky you don't need to charge your phone insanely all day just in case. I paid £10 for an anker portable charger. It is a battery you plug the USB end of a charger into, and plug your phone as normal. Press the little button and off it goes. It has 8 hours full charge on it so lasts a few times. I hook mine up to the computer at work to charge it to save me charging that :rotfl: and have now graduated to a much bigger one that can charge an iPad and a phone at the same time and has about 15 full charges of life on it. Again I cheap out and charge the actual battery at work. And plug my phone in there too :rotfl:
There are loads you could find. They work great when you're out shopping and the phone dies, or stuck at the hospital for hours... I've had all these scenarios with my terrible battery on my phone and it has saved me multiple times!! xx

But the non plug-in phone for home sounds a plan. I am pretty sure you could freecycle that though! :D

Love satchmo's idea about a HOLIDAY fund next year!! :D

Much love, super skinny lady xxx
