My DS1 broke his ps2, then his ps2 (no. 2) then an xbox and an xbox 360 all because of online games with other people who would p1ss him off apparently. He'd get angry then smash the nearest thing to him. I have stopped buying him consoles and he's just bought a laptop out of his own money to play on and I still hear him shouting and cursing
I don't see where the fun is in this??? I sometimes switch off the internet and pretend it's broken just to get him out of his room
I too am glad I grew up in the 80s and 90s where there was no internet, no mobiles and no online bullying! (I had an Amiga 500 for one xmas present one year and I played the simpsons on it haha it was the only game I had and i rarely played it!) I hear about these online problems too much from friends and unfortunately for my younger two having been through it with ds1 I'm loathe to buy any consoles for them now!

dfw I wish I could tell you it gets better but Him is 25 this year and he breaks at least 1 gaming controller a year. I too sit there and wonder where the fun is in all the cursing and swearing. He 'hates' his friends and the fact they can't play games as well as him yet still plays over and over! Men.
Bubbles yes, it does make me more compassionate and definitely a stronger person. What doesn't kill you...

Sorry I've not been around lucky, little miss noo naa is keeping me busy! Glad to hear the boiler is all sorted and fingers crossed all is sorted with DS1 at school and the new meds continue to work.
I hope you were spoilt by your boys on mother's day. Good luck with continuing to give DH freedom, sounds like a difficult balance to get right. Big hugs.
Will be so good when you are debt free and can buy things rather than giving money back to the banks! New fireplace and bedroom decorating high up on the list I imagine!0 -
Hi Lucky - when my DS was having problems with a bully at school I took the bully to one side and gave him a piece of my mind. I also threatened to tell his dad which must've done the trick as he looked terrified - obviously hit a raw nerve there. One thing bullies don't like is anyone standing up to them. Hope it gets sorted soon. Take care xI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

We've had a great weekend regrouping as a family. Took the boys swimming yesterday and then have been at a family Christening today which was fab. Aside from that we've spent time at the park, building Lego and clearing DS1's room ready to hopefully redecorate sometime soon when funds allow. I think it's been just what we needed.
Thank you for all the positivity re DS1's issues at school. The school have been great and are arranging a counsellor to talk to him, not that DS1 wants to but tough. I am going to drop him off and pick him up wherever possible rather than him getting the school bus, and I'm sitting with him whenever he is on his xbox so I can monitor what is said both by him and to him when he is online with his friends. Mummytogirls I know exactly what you mean about wishing them small again!
Cazzy, it would depend on your individual Counsellors rules but I don't see why you couldn't take someone with you. I've been with DH before and it definitely helps (not least because he couldn't remember things, but also for another perspective). The person you take may be asked to sit outside for part of the session, but I think it would be a good idea to take someone. Sorry you are feeling so down.
I've been thinking a lot about my Goddaughter's Mum today. So hard to be a Mother without their child on Mother's Day.
Hi Lucky,
I'm sorry you're feeling yucky!! I hope you feel better soon, I know the feeling I'm full of a stinking cold and phlegm!!! Yuck!
I took bf to the counsellor, she only wanted part of the session but he ended up staying the whole time, and I wanted him to be honest and give his perspective...he did! They both agree that I have a lot of negative influences in my lifeproblem is I don't want to upset anyone...so I just put up with it. Then a couple of days ago, I had major panic attack, and I haven't been able to shake off the feeling properly since, so now I'm off work and I'm really struggling mentally! I can't stop worrying about what happens when the inevitable happens...I'm only 27!!! I went to the docs yesterday and I've been put on a mild dose of some meds, I have to have a blood test to rule out whether there is something affecting how tired I am.
I hope that you are ok everyone, lucky I hope DS1's problems at school are improvingLose 1st 7lb

Cazzy, I'm really pleased your OH went with you to the Counsellor and you all benefitted from it. Not so pleased to hear you are struggling though, let us know if we can do anything to help Xx
Ok, so first proper update in ages sorry.
DH remains seizure free and has been for 9 weeks. This is a massive deal as we have only been managing 4/5 weeks recently. His moods seem to have settled, but he's been very tired too. As always, it's just a case of 'watch this space', but we spoke to his Epilepsy Nurse today and she is thrilled to bits.
DS1 seems ok. I've been taking him in and picking him up in the car (not very MSE as school bus is free but needs must) and the teachers have been keeping an eye on him at school. He is only allowed on his Xbox if DH or I are in the room too so we can monitor what is going on, and his time on it is limited. We've also decided to have 'Family night Friday' whereby we each take it in turns one week to decide what we do, be it watch a film together, go bowling, or even have a picnic in the summer. Anything that we can all take part in and have fun as a 'team'. The boys understand that sometimes funds will be limited, but I will try my best to accommodate their choices. We gave DS1 the chance to choose first for this week and he wants to go swimming. DS2 has already decided we are going to the museum next week!!
Money is tight as ever but not ridiculously so. Found 2 trollies when we went shopping with the pound coins still in which made me way more happy than is socially acceptable :rotfl:.
Hope everyone is well XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Lovely to read DH is doing better hun. And that you are taking time as a family
that is perfect!
Every night at bedtime Jelly asks if we can go to Canterbree... We went on the bus a while ago and I guess she enjoyed it so we ought to go more
I would be so impressed with the trolleys!!! Have never to this day found one! xx

Sorry to hear things have been tough but glad to hear you feel the meds helped you cope. I really hope things blow over with DS soon, I was bullied at school and it is just terrifying and upsetting, so hugs for you all
Pleased to hear DH has remained seizure free, long may it last
Friday nights sound great, board games and movie nights with home made popcorn should help to ease the cost now & then
Lots of love from Oz, which continues to be great. DD thoroughly spoilt me on Mothers Day and is also making big plans for my birthday on Sunday
