Big Winter Switch to E.ON - Application approved but no email from E.ON to say so?

I've still not received any confirmation of my application from E-on, its been 3 weeks now, surely I should have gotten some kind of contact from them - it seems that most other people have.
I've just tried phoning them but seem to be on hold all the time, I'm seriously thinking about cancelling my application now - can I still do that? I'm over the two week cooling off period but does that start when I've received confirmation?0 -
Hi. I applied to switch to E.on's 12 month fixed v12 tarrif on 3/11, had an email from CEC 3/11 to acknowledge app, and another 18/11 from CEC to say app is in progress. Rang eon today 26/11 as I have heard NOTHING from eon - they said they have NOT had an application to switch tariff. I rang again and spoke to another Agent, was on the phone 18 minutes whilst he checked, and he said "hand on heart that hey have not heard from MSE CEC". I have heard absolutely nothing from E.on so it seems they are telling the truth, or are they? I am, by the way, an existing e.on customer, just needing to switch rate. The tariff ends tomorrow WHAT DO I DO? cANCEL WITH CEC AND DEAL DIRECT AND LOSE £15 CASHBACK AND SLIGHTLY BETTER TARIFF??0

Im the same. Just over 3 weeks & no contact from EON.
My fixed deal with SSE ends in a week. I was hoping to be well along the way to switching by now
I know there is a backlog but surely they must have cleared that & at least made some sort of contact by now ?0 -
It’s comforting to know I’m not the only one – by some of the replies and threads I've read on here I got the impression that most people had heard from E-on so I was getting a little worried.
Hopefully the E-on representative will come on and give us a little more insight into what the problem is. It would have been nice to get an email from E-on just at least stating that they have received our applications instead of being left in the dark.0 -
Hi all
Just a quick note to confirm that if you've had a confirmation email from Cheap Energy Club (and no further contact from us or Eon to let you know of a problem) then your application should be progressing.
Due to the high volumes received, Eon has experienced some delays in processing some applications - but if you're an existing Eon user, you should get the MSE Collective tariff based on your application date.
Don't worry if you've been told that Eon hasn't received your application - this normally just means that it hasn't yet been loaded onto its customer service systems - if your Energy Club account indicates that your switch is in progress you should get the tariff.
We don't get to see every comment on the forum, so if you need to ask a question, just drop us a message to energyclub AT moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Its been 20 days since I applied for the switch and I still haven't heard anything from EON. The only emails I have had are from the Energy Club saying I should have heard by now. I phoned EON yesterday and they knew absolutely nothing about the switch. They just said that it shouldn't take long for me as an existing customer and I should ask the Energy Club for the start date?????
Can the EON representative possibly gives us an update as 20 days seems excessive even if they are struggling with a backlog.
Hi tadpole74
Really sorry for the delays. The demand for this tariff has been greater than expected. We're working our way through the backlog but aren't there yet.
MSE Dan L is spot on. Applications can't be seen by our advisors until they've been logged on to our system. As this is being done manually by a particular team, the advisor you spoke to may not have been able to see the details.
Like Dan, I'll be happy to see what's happening if you drop an email to the address in my Profile with your details. Can't promise too much initially as I've similar access to the advisor you spoke to but I'll ferret around to see what I can find out.
Hope this helps tadpole74.

Hi vicks11
As above in reply to tadpole74, we're still experiencing delays due to the demand and the need to handle applications manually. Really sorry about this.
Like my offer to tadpole, I'll be happy to take a look if you drop me an email.
You'll be ok to cancel if still in cooling off but, if not, the switch will go through and you'll need to ask your existing supplier to re-take the account. Cooling off starts from the time the application was made.
Sorry, too, about the waiting times on the phone vicks11 but hope this helps.

Hi needinghelpwithsomething and welcome to the Forums.
Must admit, I'm a bit confused here. The Energy Fixed 1 Year (version 12) tariff is one of our core tariffs. This is different from the MSE Collective Switch tariff coming through the Cheap Energy Club.
As an existing customer, you can switch to the version 12 tariff immediately. The switch can be done either over the phone or, if you've registered, through our website. As you say, this tariff ends today so you'll need to do the switch asap if this is what you want.
The version 12 tariff isn't available through the MSE Collective Switch so there's no cashback from us.
If, though, you've applied through the Cheap Energy Club for the MSE Collective Switch tariff, I suspect the application is part of the backlog I mentioned above.
Sorry if I've the wrong end of the stick here. Let me know if I have or if I can help further.

See here.
And, CEC still shows £30 cashback as well, as was the case on the day I applied! But who's paying for it (E.ON or CEC) I don't know.

Hi Newaccount
As above, we're still experiencing delays because of the demand and the manual way we're handling these switches. Really sorry about this.
Happy to take a look if you drop an email to the address in my Profile Newaccount.
