How long should a cash deposit take to clear into Lloyds account?

My partner went into a Lloyds branch and deposited a cash payment to my account. He did this yesterday at approx 4pm and the cashier advised him that the money would clear into my account by 9am this morning but it is still not in there. I have called Lloyds and they said that if the payment was made after 3pm then it would not have gone in this morning!
They couldn't tell me exactly when the money will go into my account but said it should be today at some point. I keep checking and it's still not in there. We really need this money to clear into my account as my partners bank have really let us down recently and are taking ages to make a transfer to my account which has meant I am now in an unplanned overdraft =(
Does anyone know what time I can expect the cash to clear? Just to confirm, it was a cash payment and not a cheque so as far as I am aware, it should have gone in pretty much straight away. The branch are supposed to be contacting me but I have still not heard anything so any advice would be greatly received as I am currently in an unplanned overdraft and have no access to any money with a very empty fridge and cupboards!
Thanks in advance

I'd be expecting a cash deposit to clear as soon as I handed the cash over to the teller in the bank.0

If a cash deposit had been made into your account yesterday, it would show in your transactions by now.Cherrytree12 wrote: »Just to confirm, it was a cash payment and not a cheque so as far as I am aware, it should have gone in pretty much straight away.
Can you clarify with your partner how they made the deposit, and confirm they didn't by mistake deposit the money into a different account?0 -
was it paid at the counter or into a deposit cashpoint machine?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. Hi Cherrytree12,
Does the deposit show in your account yet? If not, have the branch been in touch with you?
Thanks,
