Hey guys!

I was on Google searching for caravan fittings (Recently purchased caravan to do up) and a pop up came up of a rude video, i closed the pop up and thought no more about it.

5 minutes later I received a text saying 'Thank you for your purchase, you've been charged £6' I quickly called up Three who looked into it and told me I'd actually been charged £10!

I asked them to refund the charge as I didn't purchase anything but they said they can't as it's an illegal company! What shall I do?

How did they get my number? how can they do this without my permission?, they have said they have capped my account so no more can be charged but that's not the point, I'm £10 out of pocket!.

Any advice on what I should do? :(

I'd want to know why Three are passing your funds onto an illegal company if that's what they are claiming.
It's not just about the money

Well, they said they can't do anything as it's an illegal company! - Surely they can refund the costs?

I don't understand why they would pass funds on if it's an illegal company. Either way theres loads of complaints if you look up the number ...this one for instance

Probably, you could complain to phonepayplus, they are well known to them and they've issued hefty fines and instructed refunds.

Submitted a complaint to phonepayplus, will see what happens - Thanks :)
  • I'd also submit a formal complaint to Three. If they have stated it's an illegal company they shouldn't be making any payments to them.

I really don't get this. I've never heard of paying for goods with funds from a phone account.
Which OS were you using at the time?

Was using Blackberry z10, so BlackBerry OS10.

Yes I'll look into making a formal complaint to Three about this.

    Cheers
