Thank you floss2, it's not giving me the option to say thanks under your post. :-)0

I often use the Tesco own brand (not the value one), though sometimes Philidelphia works out cheaper if on offer so do check0

Yes I'm on tesco.com and just seen philidelphia on offer. I'm baking for party and trying to keep costs down as I'm sure there will be a load of food wasted. Thank you.0

I got a Philadelphia cookbook last Christmas and I always substitute Tesco everyday value soft cream cheese. Cheesecakes come out fine as do savoury dishes. I'm not feeling the urge to pay three times the price for Philadelphia when I can get it at 50p per 200g.0

The last cheesecake I made I used the cheapest cream cheese in asda, think it was smart price and it was lovely :-) xxxDebt free finally :j
First house purchase ... 2018 :j0 -
Value or smart price, never get any complaints!0

TBH I think it tastes better if the cook knows that good value is an ingredient in their creation0

Hi Oldstylers,
I'm looking for a bit of help please. I'm in the middle of following this recipe:
http://easiyo.com/easiyo-recipe-details/christmas_cheesecake.html
and have dissolved the gelatine in 115 ml of water (as stated on the packet) then whisked it into the cream cheese and yogurt but it looks very runny. Do I pour this onto the base of the cheesecake or wait for it to set? Won't it go soggy?
Or have I misunderstood the recipe.....?
I'm making slightly more than the recipe, so have scaled it up a bit but that shouldn't make it a difference.

It will look runny until the gelatine sets, put in the fridge for a couple of hours.0
