"0% for 9 months from account opening for all purchases (excluding cash advances) and for balances transferred within 30 days of account opening"

Into my (virtual) mailbox this morning, landed a wee note from M & S telling me their &More card was now 0% for both BTs and purchases for the first nine months. Of course, they still give reward points on purchases too. Methinks I feel another CC application coming on :-)

  • .... and here's the clarification on whether it's 6 months or 9 months.

It has taken about 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) years for the Earth to form as it is now .........
and it'll only take about another 100 years for mankind to really **** it up!!!!

When you get the "official notification" of acceptance through the post it says 0% for 9 months on BTs and purchases on the letter. (Phew!)

The 0% for BTs only applies for BTs done within 30days of the date of the letter (this is explained in small print at the bottom.)

They send you pin notification (XXXX <-- this is mine) and your card separately at the same time as the letter. I'm still waiting for the card though. I don't think you find out the credit limit until you see the plastic.

Did you have to wait a while to hear back from them? I applied a couple of weeks ago when it featured in the tips, then received an email saying I would hear in a week, which I duly haven't. Will try telephoning tonight, but just wondered if anyone experienced this?

    Hi clarebear,

They are a bit slow. It took about 7 days for me to get an acceptance email. Then another 7 days to get the card. Some people have had their acceptance letters in the post, some by email.

They should be able to help you over the telephone.

I just BT'd £5000 from my Egg card to the M&S card.

The one thing which is worrying me silly about this card is "How do I make monthly payments?". It says in the T&Cs these must be by cheque or direct debit. I didn't tick one of the direct debit options when I applied. I don't fancy taking cheques to the HSBC bank every month or posting them, so what should I do.

I normally pay credit cards by BACS payment from my bank. Do you think they will let me do this? Anyone done it?

If not and I ask for setup minimum payments by direct debit how long will they need to set this up so the first payment is not missed -- there have been some posts in the past about the first payments not being taken with some cards.

    Anyone?

Ref when the 30 days starts, I called last night & the Indian lady, after checking with her supervisor, assured me that it was 30 days from the date the account was opened, This would not be until they received back your acceptance of the offer & the account was set up on their system.

I intend clarifying the dates & the credit limit by phone as soon as I get the card.

Found this on the M&S site:

Can I view my &MORE Credit Card account online?

Not at present. We are currently developing this facility and there will be a message on our site when this is made available.

Can I pay my &MORE Credit Card account online?

Yes you can, by registering with your own bank and instructing them to make a payment to us, remembering to quote: Your &MORE Credit Card number as the reference number.
The Marks & Spencer Money Barclays Bank account number (90908088) and sort code (20-20-44).

Please arrange payments to be made at least 4 working days before the 'post your payment' date. For alternative ways to pay, call 0845 900 0900.

So assumedly, with that in mind, you must be able to pay using BACS, like most other cards, using your account number as a reference, and if you believe the notes, they'll have their own online facilities soon too anyway!

Card looks good too (M&S and good image often don't go together :p), that said I do like the shop and food, so am thinking of applying for this, but would like the online facilites sooner rather than later!

    Cheers

Thanks Steve you're a star. I'll have a search for the above info on the M&S website.

I found the card listed as one which can be paid online from my NatWest account too.

    David.
