Just popped in to agree with everyone re your worth and not being a burden and to say 'abide with me' makes me greet too
. I also think its not just about the funeral on that day but it focuses us on previous losses as well IYSWIM

Very touched actually by all your lovely comments.
I know I struggle with self worth because I was bullied at High School
Anyway, on a lighter note.
So very touched tonight.
Both DS & his GF popped in tonight independantly to check I was ok.
Which was very nice of them both.
I had a big hug with DS & another cry.
Went fot a wee spin with DS in his shiny new car.
Love it.
Thanks again xxThanks everyone
It went about as well as expected.
It was very emotional.
I cried during Abide with me & then during the eulogy (delivered by her son)
My DS's friend certainly did his lovely mum proud.
So very proud of the lovely young men they have become.
Another star shines brightly in the sky. RIP T. xxx
After the ups & downs of their teenage years it is so very lovely to see.So, this is it.
I dont think I do matter.
Just a burden to everyone.
DS disagrees but that's how I feel.
Poor DS:o:(
Oh beanie :kisses3: :bdaycake: :coffee:
Here's another measure of how you matter. I've been a bit stressed, as you know from my diary, nothing awful but nothing good, and when I came online this morning I read nearly three pages since yesterday trying to reassure you and give you feedback :grouphug:
You know it's about being bullied as a child - and I'm guessing it was really, really bad to have such a huge effect on you. Have you ever worked on it in counselling? Because it sounds like an open wound still, honey, it really does. Affording counselling is probably out of the question, but a self help group, even one like CODA if you can still find it, or a self help website or book to work through - they can help too. My lifesaver, introduced to me a couple of years ago by an mse forum member, is Captain Awkward. I lived in the archive there for about 6 months, and it made me feel a *lot* better about being who I am, and that's been permanent.
Thinking of you xxx
ETA - congratulations on the mortgage and the cc!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
