Sorry you are still coughing Beanie. It is just so wearing.
I had a cough for 9 weeks last year which was viral, so no antibiotics. When I did eventually go to the Drs they recommended a cough medicine. The type for a dry tickly cough that acts as a cough suppressant. It really seemed to help x0 -

Me too, it can still cause irritation to your airway if you don't treat it - we are great fans of the Boots BP Pholcodeine cough mixture. It has a tiny bit of codeine in it (which is an opiate) and so it helps with sleep while suppressing the coughing. It is available over the counter from the pharmacist and is quite cheap as a BP (generic medicine)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target. The 2026 Save £12k in 2026 thread is here
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I finished the year at £2880.99/£3000 or 96.03% of my annual spend so I am sticking with a £3000 annual budget for 2026

Oh beanie, how horrible for you. Viruses seem to take forever to shift, don't they
and that coughing sounds awful. Hope you managed to get some sleep last night. 2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Unfortunatly I am 20 miles from a Boots.
If I went to local chemist would I just ask for a BP Pholocodine cough cough mixture?

I have been asked to take a very temporary lodger for a couple of weeks.
Though I really really dont want to the money would pay to get the fence painted & some of the weeding done.

Ooh, thats a tricky one - can you manage to make things separate, so that you don't have much time with the lodger?2023: the year I get to buy a car0

You should be able to. Have a chat with the pharmacist - I know nothing about any other medical conditions or medication you are taking and you need to just check there is not an incompatibility or other problem. I would personally always ask them to check it does not contain aspartame too (the artificial sweetener) but that is part of the "me" things.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target. I'm sorry you've still got your cought Beanie, it's horrible when it keeps you awake at night
.
With regard to the lodger the money would be useful, but do you know them or would it be a stranger? Would it make you uncomfortable to have them in your house? Would it create a lot of extra work for you to do?

I dont know the person.
They would only be here a couple of weeks.
I have had lodgers over the years so that part of it does not bother me.
