It’s good the GP has offered, there might be some relaxation sessions or techniques they can offer or an increase to physio? Hope the increased meds kick in soon.
I already pay £50 per week for physio and can’t afford any more. It’s not available on the NHS.
Is that specifically for your condition that they won’t pay? Surely it would save them money? Madness!
    Yes. It is.
Part of my private physio is very hands on and would not be available on the NHS anyway but also as it’s a lifetime condition. It’s been explained to me more than once but I really don’t get it. It’s like you are an inconvenience to the NHS as you cost them a lot of money. I was once told this by a junior doctor.

That’s awful Beanie, so some conditions matter and others don’t? I feel very angry and frustrated for you, I can’t imagine how it is for you.

This makes no sense to me … I have a lifetime condition and as a result I get free prescriptions. I don’t understand why your situation would be different 🤷‍♀️

I believe the official phrase in my case is that ‘it doesn’t help you mobilise’ or words to that effect. Same for all people who have CP. Self management is fine but only to a degree.

I dispute that (from within my limited knowledge). You actively describe to us how physio helps you do more - how is that not ‘mobilising’?

Not meaning to give you a hard time here. Just wondering if it is worth exploring afresh with the new GP? After all you wouldn’t be committing a substantial amount of your budget to it if it didn’t help in some constructive way! 🤷‍♀️😊

It’s not the GP. This is a purely physio ruling and I believe it to be country wide.
Just like people who have continence issues are provided with products that are not fit for their purpose.

And the GP can’t overrule it?

It’s the same for Mr SA there’s no ongoing treatment available to him. He’s basically told you’re lucky to be here get on with it 😖

It beggars belief. A two tier system for disabled people.
