Love Shetland. Was listening to Ann Cleves on the radio yesterday. I hadn’t realised she was the author for both Shetland and Vera. I haven’t been able to get into reading a book for ages and I used to be an avid reader, but am going to try and collect Vera from the charity shops or book exchange boxes that have appeared around and about since Covid. I’ve already looked on BorrowBox but they don’t have the 1 st book 🙄

Do you have some sort of walking frame Beanie? Years ago when youngest was having falls OT came to assess her and lent her a walking frame which helped a lot. They knew I also had two forms of arthritis and fibro and often had sciatica attacks with left me unable to sit , stand or walk. They lent me a perching stool to try it was quite tall and I couldn't sit on it without pain although I'm tall myself. Leaning against it would begin to lower the pain levels until I could move again.I watched the first 2 episodes of this final Perez Shetland series.I'd always meant to read Ann Cleves books. I watched every episode of Vera and have the full set on Dvds. I love wide open spaces and big skies and both Vera and Shetland featured those things. There was so much rubbish on tv in the last few years I was watching the dvds repeats of other things I'd loved and enjoying the vurtual tv winter and other walks with the Yorkshire Shepherdess and many others walking in lovely often wild places.Spring I could wander through snowdrops , primroses and bluebells which was something I;d always done in real life until lockdown.I can't believe I only watched 2 episodes of Shetland. I'd emailed an MSE friend living in Scotland but always lomged to live on Shetland until she discovered how harsh the winters could be to remind her to watch.I will have to catch up though I think all 7 series are now on sale as a boxset.pollyxxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.4 -
As far as the tv series go, I'm an utter convert - recent to both, ie during the pandemic, but I really love them now.
Hope you're okay beanie.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
