Weird Fish in their online sales always have fleeces and are excellent quality. Not the cheapest but long-lasting and warm.

I've bought a few fleeces from Go Outdoors - I think I paid about £7.50 each for a couple a few months back - I just wanted them to wear indoors but they sell thick versions . If you buy their member's card when you order (£5 yearly), some of their stuff is really cheap. They sell hoodies too. It might be worth a browse.

I bought some thermal leggings and tops from Lidl last year which worked well. When Mr SA worked outdoors he used to layer his clothes.

Do you already wear warm base layers?  Obviously the merino base wouldn't suit if you can't wear wool, but it makes a huge difference for both in the house and going out.  Maybe some mostly cotton thermals?  A friend of mine who is housebound (so can't move about much and feels the cold because of it) swears by the M&S ones.

I am a cardi gal too but it will get tooooo cold for a cardi.
