Yes nipping would be good as it would save all this decision making etc but once it's sold then we really can be settled.

On that note we accepted an offer this morning and without a chain and a mortgage offer in principal already arranged we may be lucky and have a smooth ride.

We went to lunch with other Cyprus owners in London at present also selling up and what was to be a couple of hours turned into 6 so now we are racing around trying to finish the general packing, emptying fridge and bins etc etc.

Up early tomorrow so car is being packed as we go everything is printed and the passports and keys are in the bag lol

Happy New year to all and I will still be reading everyone's lovely diaries from out there xxxx

Update on sick people from before Christmas....

Friend ones mum is well and mending from her stroke, she is home with said friend and is doing great.

Friend two who had emergency appointment with cancer specialist is fine it's nothing life threatening thank goodness so she can continue with her plans for emigrating which should be happening within weeks.

So with those two good bits of news a buyer who has given us a good offer on house and a penny picked up while out walking it's turning into a good end of year.

    Roll on 2015 xx

  • Just read your posts for the first time & wanted to wish you all the best in your new life abroad.
  • Well we managed to get up and out and are now enjoying the freebies in the Club Lounge at Heathrow having got all our crates and cases through without issue.

Thank you for reading and it's looking like 2015 could be very interesting with many changes. Downsizing but to a beautiful place, no debts or mortgages and total decluttering of our belongings and no hanging on to the past, no work for either of us so no income as such so we must stick to the plan but we will be comfortable.

I am almost giddy with excitement but I will hold it in until the house is actually sold ;-)

Happy New Year for 2015 xxxxxx

Phew we made it through security with our crates and they didn't want to open any thank goodness as trying to repack them would have been a nightmare.

The journey was a doddle and the added bonus of fast track and club class really was lovely. Taxi was waiting and it was a large people carrier so all the luggage went in easily.

We arrived to balmy evening temp of 17c and arrived at out villa by 8.30 pm. Our lovely neighbours are here so a very brief Happy new Year over the fence and a promise to call in on New Years Day.

After quickly checking that all was ok around the house turning on the electric and water etc we opened the luggage that had our clothes etc for the evening quick change and out and thankfully the car was serviced and all fine sitting on the drive as promised.

We had a fab evening with friends for New Years Eve and we really felt at home.

Up late yesterday as we saw in New Year at 12 then again at 2am watching BBC and texting OH children etc.

Quick cuppa and cereal while playing put and take with some of the unpacking but we were going on a ramble so had to be out the door by 12.45. What a beautiful day and a great group of people nattering and enjoying the fresh air and scenery as we were up on the ridge so the views were beautiful. We had to get supplies so quick visit to the supermarket and then home.

Forgot no instant hot water so we put the tank on and popped next door to have a quick catch up lol hour and a half and a lot of wine later we managed to get some dinner and hot showers.

Internet finally working fine so we can also watch tv now but it's a little fiddly as not straightforward as in uk but eventually it sinks in.

Today we need to do chores in town like bank and Internet provider payment and meet up with people who have asked us to bring out bits not available here so we will be busy.

The rest of the unpacking to do and as always it amazes us that the contents of what was a pile of luggage just disappears it's like the house just absorbs it all.

It's great to be back but even in five weeks we have weeds!!!

It's very blue this morning and the temp outside is 19c so I am going to take my tea and sit in the silence on the terrace.

Happy New a Year to you all and may 2015 be a good one xx

The obligatory trip to town to the money exchange, sort payments for Internet provider, food shop, collect DVDs on order for friend drop of bits to another friend, have coffee, top up local phone, organise a meet up for dinner with friends going back to uk and then a drive around a new development just for a nose lol. but we didn't manage to photocopy all our documents to keep in the car so that's another day.

We had a lovely walk around our site and all looks good. We have both been on the Supervisory board (committee) for a few years but come September we have decided that's it no more. It's not appreciated how much work is involved and in fact we have had some insults back handed from people we thought were friends!

Dinner out was cosy last night with log fire and a lovely welcome then back to friends for a nightcap. These friends also have sold in UK and make there final move on March 8th.

Finally unpacked the last bits this morning while it rained but now it's dry and bright and some new arrivals to visit today as well as a pile of ironing I left last time!!!

Dinner at home tonight so OH will sort the log burner to keep us toasty while we curl up and watch tv.

Another lazy morning yesterday but then a quick tidy and a pop to the local shop and back before visitors arrived. I did manage Twinks hobnobs recipe which I found on MSE and they were fab' really easy and I kept back about 16 blobs of mix and froze them to see if the will work for a quick need for biscuits occasion.

I also did a Goulash in the slow cooker which turned out good and I kept half and froze it for another day. Feeling just a tad domesticated lol

Friends loved the Twinks and we spent the afternoon catching up and I now have a Turkish lesson to go to on Tuesday morning!!!!!

As the slow cooker was doing it's thing and the fire ready to be lit we thought we would pop to the local bar......... Slow cookers are wonderful things ;-)

Woke up to thunder lightening fierce wind and rains and no electric for about an hour and a quarter which is not unusual out here. Looks like an indoor day so plans and budget details will be looked at for 2014 so we are sure we have everything covered for 2015.
