Well 4 years today we moved to our house in Cyprus. Having sold, chucked, given away nearly our whole worldly goods including the house and the car we arrived with 7 pieces of luggage.
We did already have a holiday home fitted out so bare bones came with us.

I am 63 and DH is 53 so we want to spend time together while I am in good health and can still do loads.

Outdoor life is the norm and the dogs and cat keep us busy. Body pump for me a couple of times a week and DH plays bridge and does scuba diving in the season.

Loads of people say we are so lucky but we took a huge leap of faith got rid of the mortgages by selling the house and invested what was left to live on until some pension come in a few years. I am a 1955 born woman so I have lost 6 years state pension much to my annoyance.

Life is much the same as UK cook, clean, wash, iron, shop etc but most of the year we do it in great weather and there is a good community also for getting together as long as you don’t go down the drinking everyday route and do nothing else!!

Our winter has been wettest on record and the houses here are built for the summer so log burner has been well used so I must find a chimney expert to come and clean it.

I am also starting a yuk job of the week list I.e things that get overlooked or left a little too long so today I am cleaning the oven!!

    So far I have done
    downstairs lampshades
    Tap filters
Shower traps to clear the gunge
    Cooker hood

I need to add more to this list before I get bored and stop again.

How lovely to see you have come back to this thread :)

I imagine life would be just the same, but with decent weather, as after all you can't be on "holiday" all year round

I guess this is the time of year to get all those nasty jobs done, before it gets too warm and fatiguing

We have just this week completed a kitchen extension which was started in November, and today finally, my kitchen looks clean and tidy with gleaming oven and cooker hood. Not having been touched since before the work started, you can imagine how filthy that was  But we have had lovely early spring weather this week, so it was nice to fling the windows and doors open and just get on with it. I couldn't imagine cleaning the kitchen top to bottom in the Cypriot summers
