I get sick to death of reading stuff on here like this.. !!!!!! read the handbook, play with buttons - its all part of the fun of getting a new car.
People like the OP make me so glag I'm not in the motor trade any more.0 -
Reminds me of the BMW phone in complaint "My car won't go at night"
In the daytime I put it in D for Daytime and it goes fine.
At night I put it in N for night-time and it won't move, I want my money back.

Not to mention putting it in R for race mode and hitting the car behind.
He's already got a thread running.0 -

Not to interrupt the usual witch-hunting that comes with residents of internet forums, but it seems me to that the problem is a little more serious.
The OP was raising the issue of 'no interior light'. Even though this might seem pretty straightforward, I'd suggest his response, when told it could be switched off was:
"Thanks, that may be the case as it is unlikely to be a bulb as i guess more than one light should come on"
From that, I guess that it could well be the case that there are no interior lights at all - could well be the instrument cluster.
If it is, that's a bit issue (some might say dangerous, if it impedes the ability to read the speedo or causes a distraction when trying to do so).
I'm also sure the dealer wasn't open at 11.40pm when he posted, so although he could have (and perhaps did) ring the dealer the next day, he's just asked a simple question after paying a fair few thousand for a car that's faulty.
It's just as helpful as saying to someone "who cares if you're in debt, shouldn't have been so stupid with money", surely?0 -

Point is, at no point past the first few posts did anyone attempt to understand the problem or help - it was all a load of assumptive and/or facetious posts after that point.
Considering the 'brightness' of the backlighting on the controls and instruments is normally only affected by the lights being on, it's less likely that a dealer would turn this down (wouldn't achieve anything, tbh). The premise seems to be that people thought he was talking about the courtesy light and decided to arm the keyboards based on that.0 -

Who said the dealer turned it down. Now you're jumping to conclusions.0 -
