Hi, I am having the same issues as a lot on here. Have a business that has been using BES to supply electric since Jan 2014 and had no problem till recently when they tried to increase the price by 14.3%. Rang them to see if I can get out of my contract but said there was nothing I can do as I agreed to the 5 year tracker contract apparently, which I have no recollection of and no paperwork. But they said I did it over the phone and that is classed as a 'contract'. What I can remember is trying to change my supplier when I initially opened only for them to tell me I'd to pay them to change supplier. I think it was something of the region of £300, so I just stayed with them. I obviously have no proof of this as, who records phone calls every time?
Could someone give me the details of this law firm that is mentioned above please?Hi Mark,
I COULD give you advice and tactics to get out of the contract. But then if I did that I would be in breach of an agreed Court Order with BES. The good news is that we have a fraud trial next year at the High Court, where we're going to expose BES for fraudsters they really are.
So instead of breach the order, I will put you in touch with an excellent law firm who will use the tactics to get you outYou should also be able to sue BES for what you've overpaid.
I take it you're aware of the recent Police raids, and (now public) criminal investigation?0 -
if you could pass on the details of the firm to me i'd appreciate it also. 2 years into nightmare and cant get out!0

Ive had a recent spat with BES over my rates. I'm informed by BES that I'm given the best rates for my electricity, this was what I was told when initially agreed to a 5 year contract, yet, the rates have been increased already, with BES telling me that this is the best they can offer, but, apparently, the market is quite competitive and I was called by another company yesterday( 22/03/17) who could beat the rates I'm on by 25%, saving me over £400 per year. When I complained to BES, I was informed that the market rate is not available to me, that is not how I believed it to work when I took out the contract. I believe I have been misled by BES, all I got from them was a recording of the original phone call, I have no dispute about this, what I do dispute is the terminology they've used in order to gain my business. Had I understood at the time, I would not have agreed to this, I run a small business and the best rate for utilities is fundamentally vital to the future of my shop, am I now at the mercy of BES, who it seems can charge what they like and I have no say in the matter?
Any help with this would be much appreciated. Thanks0
