I would agree, but then we'd both get threatening letters from their lawyers claiming we are part of a "conspiracy to cause economic harm" - I kid you not!

I am sorry to hear that this is a carbon copy, but I'm not surprised. Please do let me know if I can be further of assistance, but filling in the form goes to the right people :)

I am so stressed. We have like others been harassed for want of a better word into signing ...lies told cheapest rates etc etc just days into moving into our new small business.

5 years also its stating on paperwork, expressly told them we are mixed use property and as such no gas needed as that is residential upstairs..yet I was railroaded by the person selling it.
    On phone now to them.
I just want out and we will be moving asap. I know they threaten charges but the bill we have just been given for just TEN days is way over what they told us.
And we were told no standing charge yet the contract in front of me states differently.

I've been getting phone calls from Commercial Reduction Services ever since I switched my business account from BES to EDF. BES were supplying the premises when I purchased the company, and the first thing I did was find a reputable company to run my services, as you can pretty much guarantee any off-brand company are going to be ripping you off.

The previous owner was under the impression that the meter reading automatically reported its reading to the company to make bills with - I very much doubt this was true and I'd love to know who implied it was the case, but that's another story.

Anyway, after paying BES off for the first month (which was some ridiculous amount of money that I just took on the chin to get away from them as fast as possible) I was pretty much left alone for about a year.

However, then the phone calls came. "EDF have given us your information", they would always say. The first time they called I was none the wiser and said it would be perfectly fine for them to send me some information but when the email came through and it was just a contract rather than anything concrete, I deleted it.

This is sometime in 2014, and since then I have been bothered by this company as much as 2 or 3 times a week, admittedly sometimes only once a month. I'm at the point now where I either hang up on them if I can't be bothered to deal with it, I tell them firmly that I've asked not to be contacted in writing and sometimes I'll get into an argument because they're usually really scummy human beings who don't like not making their commission.

A phone call from these people puts me on edge for a good few hours now - I've even reported them to the Police, because the calls were coming so thick and fast, and absolutely nothing has been done. I would love to be involved in any lawsuit that is currently on the cards.

Oh, and EDF say that they never give their customers information out, so they were lying about that. They haven't opened their calls with that for a while now...

Anyone Googling for Commercial Reduction Services - block their numbers (they have hundreds but it's a start) and start noting dates of when they call you. If I'd started after the 2nd or 3rd time I'd have a real case for harassment. Believe me, they won't take no for an answer.

    Hi Devlin,

What you say I am afraid is completely familiar with a lot of complaints about these guys.

Commercial Reduction Services is owned by a [TEXT REMOVED BY FORUM TEAM]

This link should tell you all you need to know about these 'independent' brokers and BES:

  • Hi, OFGEM have found BES n breach of certain condition and BES have agreed to pay £980,000 in total by way of settlement of the case. Of this amount it has undertaken to pay compensation totalling £310,000 to consumers affected by the breaches. BES has also agreed to contact all those customers who have contacted them previously in relation to any matters relevant to breaches to explain its failings and to offer those customers the opportunity to terminate their contract, should they wish to, without a termination fee being imposed...
I'll look forward to that !

The problem is that it's all reliant on BES admitting it to the customer they've breached the terms on their account.

BES and [TEXT REMOVED BY FORUM TEAM] are the most dishonest people you can meet. They lie time and time again, employ lawyers to lie, and even go as far to lying to the High Court, and then lie about lying there too.

To this day, they're refusing to release a Domestic Gas supply, despite the fact their License doesn't allow them supply to domestic premises.

I can't see them admitting in writing to customers in the way described above. According to Ofgem over 7,000 customers have been screwed by BES - £310,000 won't go far!
  • We have a reply from BES today, they have warned us about your vendetta against them. oh dear they are not happy with you at all, Strange how they have now contacted us, never got a reply before, we shall see what happens.
