Yay, that's a great start MrsSave :j
They paid for my last batch no problems, though it did take over a week but you can track the progress of the order online.Letting Go NST #17

Carbootcrazy- I always check Amazon as well as FatBrain but what I found with textbooks is that they are so thick they cost a bomb to send (using Amazon). Whereas with FatBrain all you need to do is put them in a box. Though, it's sounds like yours had a massive difference in pricing between the two sites!
I guess the textbooks need to be within the last 10 years or so. The ones I've sold have been maths and medical degree books, and I guess the content doesn't change very much over the years!Letting Go NST #17

Thanks for your reply, Samiszel, it was really helpful. Next time I'm rummaging through books at car boot sales I'll keep a look out for fairly recent textbooks now. Thanks for the heads-up:beer:
I get fed up of having to compete with the 'big' sellers on Amazon who vastly undercut on prices, selling books for 1p:mad: when the postage will be exorbitant for a big heavy book, as you say. The ones I tried FatBrain for were heavy, that's why I tried them in the first place, but was pleasantly surprised that all Amazon's cheap copies of these books were in much worse condition than mine, ex-library or being sent from USA. Mine were 'as new', not ex-library and to be sent next day from UK so I could ask more for them. Some other sellers were asking ridiculously high prices for these books so mine were the best alternatives really. I need the money so need to sell my books reasonably quickly. I'm not after ridiculously high prices but I'm never going to go down the 1p route. I'd rather give them to a charity shop.
There's certainly a fair amount of faffing about deciding where to sell books isn't there? I'd certainly opt for sending them off to somewhere like FatBrain (if they were the type of thing they want) to get a guaranteed quick sale and receive the money sooner rather than have them listed for months on Amazon (and cluttering up my home:().0 -

None of my ebay items seem to be selling and still too proud to sell on the Facebook sites. Hopefully one day I will overcome my ego and put things on there but not quite ready to do it yet. Thanks for telling me about closed groups, that makes it slightly less daunting.
I don't sell on facebook. I quit years ago (I was completely addicted to it) and I'm often tempted by the sales but so far have kept away.carbootcrazy wrote: »
CountingPennies: sorry you have been ill. Let's hope you are finally fit enough to face the rigours of Christmas and all the extra work it involves. Sending a hug your way:grouphug:.
Thanks CBC, i had a nice easy shift at work yesterday, but knackered now.
Managed to make myself £21.83 at work yesterday, but i'm rounding it up to £25 because I stayed on at work for an extra 45 minutes (hey, it all helps right??)
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

Just had an email and signed up for 100 free listings for the next 3 days. I'm off work today and tomorrow so I really should make the most of it.
DH is making me clear out the dining room today with has all my eBay junk (i mean treasure) in. Had a good sort through the clothes and I have 2 of those massive ikea bags full to take to cash for clothes tomorrow. I'm just keeping stuff that I think will sell 1st time round.
