I also see no referral on my part to this being a second honeymoon

Quote from your first post... we thought why not as it was our 2nd wedding anniversary

Quote from your post number 10..... nice for our anniversary

Perhaps it would be a very good idea if you bothered to read through just what you put on the threads before having a go at people that state what you have put.

A second anniversary is not the same as a second honeymoon. The OP never stated it was a second honeymoon, so your suggestion that she read what she has posted is comical.

OP, I would be complaining too if I was you. You've been quite clear that you don't expect a full refund of the whole holiday, so I don't know why these @rses keep accusing you of that. Best of luck to you x

The Op stated....I have emailed back saying my case is not closed, it is just not good enough and I want a full refund

and until I questioned the refund in post one that was IMO the OP was asking for.

And you've already been told, numerous times, that they meant a full refund of the sea-view supplement.

    Stop digging - you're wrong.

But there is a sea view, regardless of whether you can personally see it or not.

While I would be incredibly annoyed as well, the t&c's do state that the view may be almost completely obscured. Keep pressing for a refund of the £336 - even as a travel voucher - as a gesture of goodwill but you have no legal right to get it back.

And you have had a big change of heart your post proves it.

What on Earth are you going on about?

As far as I'm concerned I've been consistent from the start (I don't know why you feel otherwise - maybe a post or 2 was badly phrased?). There is no legal right for a refund but as it was such bad quality they have a good case to push them into a goodwill compensation payment. Which they'd fully deserve.

I have now posted them a letter so we will see how that goes, as you said it would of been the ideal opportunity to sort it all out at the time in the hotel but the hotel themselves are not First Choice and agreed themselves it was not a sea view room and we did not want to waste anymore of our holiday on this matter so took it up on arrival home, the hotel themselves were lovely!

Did the hotel put in writing to you that your room was not a sea view room?
Again if you showed them the documentation showing you'd booked a sea view room and the room they gave you wasn't a sea view on their inventory they'd have either changed your room, spoken to the FC rep or spoken to the FC office themselves to sort it . So either they had no room to give you .....or it was in fact a sea view room on their inventory. These hotels are given a list of guests and the type of rooms they have paid for. Either the list was wrong or the hotel gave you a room they then later agreed wasn't a sea view. The hotel allocate the actual rooms.

If your account is accurate the hotel weren't lovely at all and made no effort to help you. Even if the list was wrong they could see from the confirmation it was wrong and could have followed up.

I think I'm beginning to understand why the hotel didn't bend over backwards to help you.

    Not exactly classy are you!

I've never had a four or five star not change a room if I was unhappy with it ......but then I speak to people civilly and don't sulk or thrown tantrums.
Most decent hotels will upgrade if a customer appears genuine and not trying it on as they want happy guests ....so maybe they weren't as lovely as you thought.
If they had better view rooms empty it would have cost them nothing to upgrade you and keep you happy. If they didn't have such rooms then all the complaining in the world won't magic one up.
Maybe less drama lama antics about how it was ruining your not a honeymoon and a bit more charm would have worked better for you.
You might want to review your letter to FC and makes sure it makes clear you are seeking a refund of the view supplement and not the entire holiday though. I tend to agree the best you'll get is vouchers and not cash though as a goodwill gesture as you don't have a legal case.

I actually find it really funny that you are the one who sprouted nonsensical tripe about our sex life / secong honeymoon and came across in an over all bitter manner that you say I am classless.

I really have not got the time to keep waffling on giving reasons and defending my choices and joining in these petty back and forths, this place is the same as all the other web forums full of pompous idiots chomping at the bit to let loose with their disgusting personality which you are a prime example of.

Thank you to all the genuine posts from those sensible people, I am enduring to get my refund and hopefully will, there will be no more posts or visits from me, tata!

A rather ridiculous level of spite towards someone you've barely spoken to... You make a list of baseless accusations that they refute, so now you just pretend that never happened and make a second list.

And you have the audacity to call them classless!

OP, how did you pay? You may have more luck disputing this through your credit card provider - it wouldn't cost much if you can convince them to charge back the supplement you paid, so won't be biased :) My general course of action for most complaints, from housing to utlilities or even tour operators would be (I know you've already taken some of these steps):
    • Complaint letter to organisation (tour operator)
    • Complaint to some head honcho/chief exec of the organisation
    • Raise with card provider (or other payment provider) if applicable, stating you paid for a sea view and couldn't see the sea and have failed to resolve this with the operator
    • Complaint to ombusdman and/or small claims (small claims as a last resort and only with reasonable confidence of success)
Some may say you shouldn't claw back a payment, but in my experience people/companies tend to listen more when you've got money they want instead of them having money you want ;)
