debt free by Christmas 2015

Options
Hallo

I was aiming to be debt free by christmas this year... however its not happened. I have gone a bit backwards in the debt fight :( as i added a resit and course on to it which was not cheap!!

but i passed my exams and now just have to do my log book to be qualified!!!

So i think this will be debt free by christmas 2015... :( unless something epic happens...

just came back from 2 weeks in thailand. I saved for it so that didnt add to the debt... so now im just paying of debt :)

This is a new diary for this new goal.. any hints and tips for my new journey would be great!

Will add what I owe and change my signature asap :)

    Hi Raggydoll,

Good luck on the journey ahead over the next 14 months.

What APR or daily charges are you paying on your CC and OD? Just wondering if this can be reduced so you pay off the debt rather than interest??

    Good luck

  • As above, are you paying interest on your card - is it worth moving to an interest free option? Good luck for your last push to debt freedom!

  • Hi Both!

Yes i am currently paying interest. Was on barclaycard 0% interest until recently. :) need to look in to a new one... im worried about keeping switching... my credt score is usually ok though as i pay what needs to be paid on time

Overdraft isnt actually that bad interest wise so that one interest wise bothers me less...but it bothers me that it can be asked for when they want it.. :S

    Hey Raggydoll,

I know what you mean about switching all the time but if you can get the right deal then this will be the last switch for your CC. The longer the deal the better.
If you can do minimum payments on CC and plough as much on OD as you can til that clears then snowball those payments onto CC. Do the calculations though to ensure you are paying enough before the 0% deal ends. It's always a thought at the back of your mind that an OD is repayable on demand but as long as you are making an effort to clear it and don't have anything else outstanding to jeopordise keeping it then they rarely do this without a reason.

    Good luck
