Well done on the home insurance. :T
Good news about the job, you're right to go for the interview and at least give yourself the option.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Whoop the cashback tracked as more so the house insurance cost us £17.61!!!
Naff day today.. I'm going to hand my notice in tomorrow on the second role I do at my place of work, which means we will be £200 down a month and at this time not meeting all outgoings but it's seriously having a detrimental impact on me, came home tonight and cried :-(
I can jig the figures around to make it work a bit I reckon.. but happiness is more important to me and I can only hope our pay increases and a bit of belt tightening elsewhere will see us through..
My head is spinning, off to sleep now!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Confession time, I've added a credit card to my signature.. We got this October time and it's an interest free 18 mth one. I've not had a CC that we haven't cleared each month for years now.. and well, look at the balance, some £3700. A lot of that is stuff we needed to do, but being honest some of it wasn't.
In a way it's been a good wake up call as I hate having it and at times, can feel the slippery slope to debt beckoning again. Anyway, going without saying, I'm on the case with this and will be clearing it before the 18mths is up..
After my post last night about my second job, although it feels the worst thing to do, I know it's the right decision, it's having such an impact on me and the money just isn't worth it.. I've slept for about 4 hours off and on and gave up at 3.30am.. Just have to get though telling my boss today now.
I've decided not to go for the interview this week as well as we reckon it would be less money and I'm losing a lot of time with the little people. I am still on the lookout for something new though.
Feel this post just makes me sound lazy and useless, especially for having another credit card :-(
Anyhoo, not much snow out there, but the wind is howling. hope journey to work isn't too bad. Have a good one all.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Hi DFOD, sorry to hear your second job is stressing you out so much.
You're absolutely right to give it up if it's making you so upset, nothing is worth feeling that down.
Please don't beat yourself up about the CC, we've all been there (I've been there several times!). You're not lazy and useless - you're working towards getting rid of it and you know how easy it can be to slide back into debt, so you won't do it. Sometimes taking on a bit of debt is unavoidable.
Big hugs and keep your chin up. :kisses3:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Evening..
Soooo after a long talk with my boss, I have some options with the second job.. best one being I could potentially drop to four days on my main job without reducing hours to give me more work / life balance. This would be amazing as it would just give me a bit of me time to just do stuff.. I've also got the offer of additional help with my second job. So I think I will put a proposal together to say if I could drop to four days, I'l carry on with second job till end of August and if it's not working, then resign then.. at that point the nursery fees disappear, so we wouldn't be in strife each month. With four days, I could also drop a day at nursery which would impact the t@x credits, but I probably wouldn't tell them and suffer a repayment at a ridiculous low rate next year as I reckon we will lose then when the little people go to School and if we don't, well it's a bonus!
£33.91 cashback in today spread between credit card, mortgage overpayment and emergency fund. Started doing a few surveys on OP and have £4 in there, so will carry on with those. Also resurrected my VP and IAP survey accounts, had nearly £10 in one, so will make an effort with those now as well to try to get in some extra pennies.
DH has gone off to a Parish Council meeting to put himself forward to be on it! So it's peace and quiet for me for a while.
Need to go surf the Debenhams kids shoe sale and book some tickets for a show in June. Some surveys and then I will probably hit bed with my book!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

thank fffffff its Friday! I've been messing with YNAb tonight and have sent an overpayment of £43 to the loan and also set up an overpayment on the mortgage for £40 this month. The emergency fund is also up to £40.. Done a few OP surveys and up to £3.95 on that. Nearly got a £10 Amazon voucher on another of the survey sites, but think I will leave them there till nearer Christmas..
Bought little girl a new winter hat, coat and winter PJ's for next winter for the grand total of £21 in the M&S sale.. also bought them another marble run from Kiddicare.. they got one from Santa and seriously it's the most played with toy ever and also the most argued over. I never buy two of things, but they obviously like this one, so we figured they could play on their own or make a big one. They were down to £5, I paid more than that when I bought it last year, so I snapped up 4 of them for £20 for birthday presents this year. When they get invited to parties, I feel I have to give a more substantial gift as there are two of them, so I can stash the other three away for birthday parties!
Primary school place choice closes yesterday, so I now have to sit it out till mid April to see which School we get..
Swimming lessons tomorrow morning, whilst Mr newly elected to the Parish Council starts decorating our hall. Paint has cost us £50 so it's a cheap one, we aren't going to do the floor in the hall till we finish the rest of the house. Hopefully the ceiling will get done tomorrow.
Lots of work to do this weekend, as well as doing a flexible working application for work to go to 4 days. Food plan and Mr T order to be done tomorrow..DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Decorating didn't commence yesterday as DH realised he didn't have any rollers, so after swimming we went to the DIY place and bought felt for his wood shed, rollers and some wood / hooks to make our shoe storage / coat hanging place in the hall = grand total £78.87.. that should mean we get the hall done for £130 with just two light shades to buy once we are done.
Made another payment yesterday to the CC of £155.36.
Worked for the second job last night for 3hrs, but also did my fexible working app to move to 4 days - will hopefully see my boss tomorrow and get an indication of whether they will go for it. Would be nice to give notice to nursery this week if so to reduce to 4 days there after half term.
Plan to get out with littlies today and give DH some space to paint.. think we might hit the playground or the beach for a bit!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Hi DFOD, hope you get the 4 day working in place as that sounds better for you.
£130 sounds very reasonable for decorating your hall. :beer:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Whoop = boss man agreed to me working four days a week, so will give notice at nursery tomorrow, so that is a day saved in respect of nursery fees and petrol to / from work.. am so looking forward to days with the little people before they go off to School in Sept.
Did a few OP polls tonight and up to £6ish in there.. another Y0ug0v survey done tonight, sooo close to a payout there..
Two balances gone into debit in YNAb this week, one for something DH had bought and the other for paypal, so need to sort those out.
Apart from that, a quiet day debt busting.. roll on tomorrow when some pennies come my way!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Few pennies in today from my kind MIL who sends us some money each month for the little people, I tend to use it for treating them etc.. put £10 into the paypal line as that was from clothes for them, so that's back in credit, rest into their account for whatever they need in the next month or so.
£6.90 on OP, no other surveys tonight and I'm working tomorrow. so it'll be Thursday before I get to do any others..
Given notice at nursery and start my 4 day weeks in February!! Need to waste a night of my life though on the phone to tax credits when I work out the reduction in costs.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
