  • Reached £20 on OP.. quite liking that site! VP survey's were frustrating today - spent ages answering questions only to be screened out - there should be a limit as to how many qualifying questions they can ask. Frustratingly close to payout on that! Not sure I will continue with them afterwards as I used to get loads of surveys and now hardly any.

Keeping the little people away from swimming today as they are both a little sniffly and hoping for them to be ok next week (do not want to take any time off next week!)

Food order due today and a bit of baking to do this afternoon. Think both DH and me are a bit wiped out, so will probably be a housey day.. Plus it's wet wet wet out there!

    Happy Saturday all. x

Been a good weekend, hopefully sold one bundle of clothes on fbook for £15 and finally sold a bag on fleabay for £10.. so good money making weekend, all will be used instead of drawing out cash next month for fuel, so no impact on the debt till then..

Few more things put on fbook and free listings on fleabay for next 10 days so must get a few things on each night to maximise that..

Been non stop today with the kids and cooking stuff, one of which was the most spectacular fail!

Little people's savings came through and with some other pennies I'd moved over, I've sent a payment of £1123 over to the loan.

That puts the balance at £2,461.. whoooooop to being in the £2k arena.. that's 95.77% paid off.. on track to clear in five months hopefully. Really aiming to get under £2k next month.

    Item 4 sold - handbag £10
Item 5 sold - bag of clothes £15

Must must must get some more items on ebay this week!

Woohoo that's amazing! Agree with the others – much better for the small ones to have debt-free parents :) and like you say, you can build it all back up once everything's gone. Well done for all of the overpayments and sales! That's brill!

Debt free next year.... what a wonderful thought

Wow, you are soooo close!!! I think your focus right down to the last few £k is almost more impressive and inspirational than the massive amount you have paid off so far! I worry that we will get a bit complacent once we are near the end of our journey, good to have someone showing us all how it should be done! :T

Just think, soon you will be down to a three digit number!!!!!! :j Brilliant.

Thank you BC and PP - I think my focus is down to being so close and being so desperate to being debt free for the first time EVER.. You are right, when I get to three figures, I might do a little happy dance!!

Manic busy week this week.. quietly been doing a few surveys, otherwise very quiet on the debt busting front.. ebay items ending this weekend..

Debating stopping the little people's swimming lessons and taking them with us for a bit.. I'm determined they will learn to swim well especially where were live, but they genuinely don't seem to enjoy it at all and I don't like seeing them unhappy..

    Morning MSE'ers..

Little people decided for us in the end asking to go swimming yesterday, so we've paid for the next block.. and will continue with it..

Think I've sold a couple of car seats that are due to be collected today, but DH is also off to collect three pine chairs for £15 that were on fbook.. we have a massive wooden table awaiting renovation and we wanted a mish mash of chairs to go with it, so these were a bargain at £5 each.

Also had to buy a new light strip for the kitchen which took £15 out of the house fund this weekend.

More digging done in the garden on work for a den for the little people - hoping to order the fence this week for this part of the garden and then start work on building the actual den.

We also have an old conversatory to take down, so I'm going to buy one of those hippo bags so whenever the mood takes us, we can start dismantling it. Cheaper than a skip, but I still begrudge paying the money out for it.

Also need to look out for cheaper contact lenses.. Got them fitted yesterday and specs@vers work out at £18 a month - that's crazy right??

A day of baking, and hopefully - finally finishing the glossing in the hall!!

Pine chairs sound like a bargain!

Need to get started on some garden stuff here too, now that spring finally seems to have sprung! Have a lovely Sunday!
