Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Aw wow, 94% is AMAZING! You've done so, so well. Think how fantastic it's going to feel when that 94% rolls over to 100% :beer:0

Who knows where my calculations came from last night - it was 93.3% not 93.9%!!!
Anyhoo another £16.39 (Cashback that arrived today) paid off the loan today and that makes it 93.4%!!!
That's £449.21 paid off so far this month.
Back on the survey trail.. 45p on OP, 225 points on yougov and some dodgy shower cream spray to test at the moment.. rock and roll folks!
Last day at work tomorrow before half term! Whoop!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

I love reading your posts. We are just starting to face our debt which is a similar amount as your starting debt and feel as though we have a huge mountain to climb but it is such a positive and an inspiration to know that you were in our situation and have managed to pay off such a large amount and are very nearly there. I have two small boys and am worrying about everything at the moment even things that probably will not ever happen!! The joys of debt!!! Sorry if I am rambling and gushing - emotions all over the place at the moment.[STRIKE][/STRIKE]LBM January 2015:(

Hi scaredofdebt - I've found your diary and subscribed..
One of the things that really helped me early days was having lots of little targets, like £1k paid off, £2 paid off, 5% paid off, 6% paid off.. it meant I literally hit a target every month which was really motivating. I also just put the debt payments to the side and 'forgot' about that money and concentrated on 'living' life with what we had left.. I also read lots of finance blogs online that helped me with ideas of frugal living / debt payment ideas..
It feels like a mountain, but it isn't and it can be done.. I don't know much about DMP's, but I assume it will give you some structure and help.. so don't dwell on where you are, but where you are going to get to.. well done for taking the first steps!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Friday and it's half term in our house.. (am loving these four day weeks)
Need to go to Tesc0 to get some fuel and use the fuel save up - think I have 14p off a litre.
Also need to get DH a V Day card.. did debate not getting one and then he said he'd got me one.. who says romance is dead!
Also need a loaf of bread as left one out yesterday on the worktop and the cat decided to destroy it!
Looking forward to a lovely 10 day break (from going to work at least - still have work to do at home) and doing it as frugally as possible!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Forgive me fellow MSE'rs for I have spent!
£3 on a notebook as you may remember I was debating getting a blackboard to put our menu plan on weekly - I've gone for a notebook instead and will put menu plans at the back and lists of meals at the front, that way I can leave it in the kitchen for DH to see as well..
Just finalised food shop, came in at £57 ish so £3 ish under budget. trying two new receipes this week.. one pot fettucine and a lentil bolognaise.. watch this space.
15p earnt on OP (£13.95) and 50 points on Yovg0v (275)
Also decided today I have to start a mammouth task of tidying up my email use, I have four that I use, I really want one main one and one back up one..
I must be in Spring cleaning mode as I also want to tackle the last four years of photos online.. I want to do a photobook for each little person for each 5 years of their life.. so I need to be ready to do the first one at the end of the year - any good tips as to which are the best photobooks around?
Another three door frames first coated, last three will be first coated tonight and hopefully final coat on all of these tomorrow if I can keep the little people out of the way enough!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
