Evening all! Just got in from seeing The Boomtown Rats
Great gig :T
Hope everyone has had a good Samhain / Halloween / Friday x
Apparently, it's November in half an hour - not sure how that happened!!!
Shopping done today so need to do some batch cooking over the weekend - in theory, having meals ready to simply heat up after work should stop me eating rubbish and get me back on SW.

Been to see the baby with DD. Niece managed to dovetail us in prior to her docs appointment. Have also made a casserole and 'helped' DD make Millionaire's Shortbread. Despite my warning she managed to get burnt bits in the caramel but she sieved it...now MANY years ago when married to OH1 I made this (same pans...there's a moral there...) and had exactly the same problem! Stainless steel pans with a copper bottom are clearly TOO hot/efficient for caramel!
Todays washing dried and has been ironed; there's more to do but the weather forecast is so good I should get it all line dried. have run vacuum round and changed my bed.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Happy November everyone
LW - well done on the man-exam and hoping they find out something so they can progress to helping you
Honey Bear - you've done well to persevere for so long. Hope we get to see a picture when you've finished

Well now we have another drama.. I think DS3 may be having a depressed phase with added panic attacks for good measure.. He is saying he doesn't want to see the GP or the school counsellor or the Diabetes team psyche person ... but I can overrule that decision... what do we do? Who do I speak to first? My first step would be the GP but mine are beyond appalling and it would be a demoralising humiliating depressing experience for us both.. they simply do not take anything seriously.. Oooh... we have a local phone helpline.. I'll try looking them up. I think it is all down to KH and diabetes and the unwell cat.. he is a sensitive chicken my DS3 ..
DD1 is almost hysterical.. she has to stop her sicking drugs tomorrow.. 38 weeks is the cut off as the baby would possibly have a severe case of the jitters when delivered if they are not out of her system..
I am so tired I could just never wake up.. unfortunately I am not allowed to sleep.. and it gets to after 1am.. I don't even know where OH has gone.. but I won't be happy if he sneaked off to bed while I was dealing with DS3... and it gets to after 1 and I'm not tired, yet getting out of bed in the morning .. at about 6:30am will kill me..

Your GP probably wont be any help on their own but will be able to refer you on to the local mental health team (you might have to push for this). The Diabetics team might be a better option. In our area there is a Psychologist who is specially trained to help kids and teenagers who have emotional problems as well as a physical illness.
Sadly this is an area which is massively underfunded and stretched to the limit with more and more kids and teenagers suffering with some kind of mental health problem. The waiting lists here are very long but we were able to see a counsellor without DS1 to begin with and it was really helpful. Oh and make sure school know whats going on too, they might not have a clue that he is struggling. Good luck with it.
I am on a decluttering mission today. I know that my house would be much easier to keep clean if I got rid of stuff. There is more paper to shred and I was pleased with myself yesterday because I got rid of some stuff out of our wardrobe which has made some space.0 -
Morning all
Piggers I hope you got some sleep, as you know kids (and adults) often have a wobble. This too will pass, tell your DS3 this, it helps with the despair. Shools are ofte good at providing support now, I wish you both luck.
Cloudier here today, hoping to get lots of flying done. Need to make a cuppa for DH to encourage him up to collect DS3 and take him to cricket. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Aww calming vibes for your brood, piggers hope things settle and that baby arrives without a drama x
We had a very small lie in this morning. Kids are just eating scones with jam and drinking milk. I'm going to get dressed. Glorious sun here! I will be turfing them out in the fresh air again. My dad is coming this morn so DS can showcase his new bike riding skills!
Will also put a teeny wash on - although there's not a breath of air, it might dry???
Feeling a bit brighter today. November is here, it's a sh!tty month but I'm ready for it!
Oh and I'm not eating chocolate this month. HmmmBossymoo

Morning everyone.
Thanks LW for reply and Natty too- I pronounced Samhain correctly - and had a sweet little girl saying "thank you and I liked the stories" - good enough for me. Not sure if their parents (who were standing around) thought I was murdering them all at one point though because we pretended to be scared seeing a ghost and it was such a brilliant loud scream they must have heard it on the seafront!!!!
Much tidying up today as bits of paper and stuff everywhere just where it fell yesterday as we dashed out of the door just before 4pm!
Now on catch up but must go shopping for a few bits first.
Have a good day everyone. xJuly 16 £95/£200

Morning all!
Right, I'm going to do some SERIOUS flying this morning. I was too tired to shower last night, so first stop - have a shower, dressed (to slippers, not shoes - no shoes in the house, yuk!) and makeup on. Will pop back in 20 min with my list, going to GET CRACKING!0 -
Morning all,
I've not been around for the past couple of days due to a lovely day out on Thursday and being ill yesterday - yak! Feeling a bit washed out today but going to try and get a few little bits done. So here's my list:
[STRIKE]-Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces
-Do washing and dry outside
-Finish planning for Monday
-Change hoover filters
-Take gas/elec meter readings
-Sort finances
[/STRIKE]
Think that's enough for today - will do a few other bits if I feel up to it.
Have a lovely Saturday,
