Because this stuff shouldn't be swept under the carpet in the same way teachers are now afraid to tell pupils they are wrong, they just "use English differently". I even see misspelt missives from school, which is hopeless.
How silly! English teachers teach English.
The only time differences are taught are in acknowledgement of register.
Eg. I do not talk to my husband in the same was as I talk to my class. Pupils soon acknowledge that they wouldn't speak to the Head as they would to a mate. The same applies to written English.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

I accept that people make errors when posting messages as it's casual and informal. What irritates the hell out of me is advertisements that have glaring grammatical errors. There is one on the radio at the moment which says "work smarter". "Smarter" is an adjective; "smartly" is the adverb.Je suis sabot...0

Yes, indeed! I also get annoyed with errors on professionally printed notices or posters.
One shop in our town had a section on 'humourous' cards. However, my favourite was on a poster outside the village church: anti-communion 10am.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

I have to admit that it grates in me, when someone puts could of, pacifically, that's grate, your joking etc etc. But I rarely say anything, as I realise that not everyone perfect.
Although I do wonder (sometimes) if it is sheer utter bloomin' laziness!
I have noticed though that on some forums (not sure about this one,) they will give you a warning if you criticize someone spelling or grammar. Not sure why. Maybe they class it as bullying.(•_•)

It could be because not every forum user has English as their first language.
(That's all the more reason for people with English as a first language to write properly, of course - help out those who are learning English!)Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.
Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0
