I was seriously thinking of getting my trees out and starting to put them up on Tuesday, it was dark, windy, rainy and thoroughly miserable. My christmas trees would have cheered me up

Do you recognise anything between now and then?
Tomorrow I put my Halloween stuff up. Its a bit late for me, but a bit more tasteful.
This will replace the -autumns/harvest stuff I have had up until now.
It will be replaced by, well, depends actually, waiting to see what holiday dates DH has been able to get. Christmas decorations will start with advent, but not the tree. I do the windows at the front, nothing flashy, but I do them first. A school bus goes past in the mornings and I think its probably nice for kids to see any changes before school breaks up and the people with the real electric light shows get going.
. Put my paper snow flakes or bauble displays into perspective:rotfl: 0 -

Blame artificial Christmas trees, I'd ban them if I were in charge.
Two weekends before, we go and find a real one. Maybe the weekend before, certainly only a few days before, we bring it indoors and decorate it. Proper job.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
arggghhh - we get the tree out the week before Christmas - or rather OH does - I don't actually LIKE all the 'd!cor and fuss' - and I would rather not celebrate it at all. not being a Christian. I don't mind a bit of holly, mistletoe and ivy in a nice arrangement. make the place look nice for 'pressie' day.0

usually its the 1st of December for me, or the nearest weekend to that day, when I put up my tree and decorations.
..... and then every day i find myself retrieving baubles from underneath the coffee table where the cat has batted them off the tree, its his christmas and it lasts a whole month!0 -
That's just crazy!! I would seriously question anyone who was that sad to put up a Christmas tree in October or a November! It's bad enough the plebs round the town I live start putting them up last weekend of Nov, beginning of December! Far too early!!0
