NOW BOOKED: Got flights from Newcastle (£900) + Accomodation booked locally by someone there (£420) = £1320. Plus parking (£80 prebooked) and Petrol (say £100) = £1500. Also got car hire booked for the two weeks (£300). So still £1800, but car hire now included, know where I am going at least (it's a 2-bed apt complex with pool) and includes other extra's like parking and petrol too, that would have still needed to be added to the original quote.

This was done by myself, and several hours(days) on the internet. I got a few replies from agents (thanks to those guys) , but sadly none were able to beat my original £1865 offer by too much.

So, if you are willing to do a DIY holiday and drive a bit further to a regional airport to get the flights, you can save quite a bit . I think I still saved £700-£900 this way (!)

    The Quote itself : Cyprus - Larnaca (flight)/Paphos(accomodation) - £1865
Who the quote is from : Co-Op agent near where I work in Birmingham
Is there a booking fee : No
The Tour Operator/Airline/Hotel: seperate accom + flights deal, did not see the screen
    The departure Airport : Bristol
    The Holiday Dates : 11th - 25th August 2007
    The number of people travelling : 2 adults / 2 Kids / 1 Infant
The Hotel : In Paphos - Allocated on arrival (not ideal!)
    The Board : S/C
    Any specific requirements : No
Is an in-flight meal included : No
    Includes Transfers : Yes

To the agents who are kind enough to look here:
I am open to ANY reasonable offer less than this for 10-14 days accomodation in Eastern Cyprus (Paphos/Limassol/Coral Bay/etc), with flights leaving on 11th-13th Aug (from any English airport) and landing ideally in Paphos, but Larnaca would still be OK. 1865 just seems a lot still... PM me NOW - Have my card ready to pay... :-)
    Always after a bargain... :-)

  • Can anyone beat a quote Ive been given for a trip to Miami in October? It is for 2 people & our best quote so far for flights & 5 nights in a 4* hotel on South Beach is £500 per person.

We can fly out on either the 14th/15th of October and want to fly back on either the 19th/20th and we want a very nice hotel on South Beach, so 4 or 5*.

Thanks, get back to me with offers

    Jon

Interesting comments from TRAVELMAN and savapenny. I posted a request early Monday morning and it is now Wednesday evening and I have not had one response at all.

As a result one holiday is no longer available and the other has gone up in price. In the end I have booked on-line with Thomson Direct.

I have to agree with TRAVELMAN and savapenny that the thread is a waste of time but for a different reason to them. I'd be interested to know how many other posters haven't received a response.
