I signed up for this deal, phone and internet went live yesterday, the whole process was simple and faultless.

Provided the £100 cash back goes through i will be a very happy camper as it will save me about £180 (vs sky) over the coming year.

The possibility of 18185 not being allowed via a Plusnet landline is what stopped me moving my mum's BT line to them - or any other alternative provider. A lot of older folk hate complication.

So she pays BT instead for the free UK landline calls option while being protected from monster bills on those occasional calls to France/Germany. Plusnet et al, go figure.

Having to dial a freephone number then immediately dial the number you want is hardly much of a complication, particularly if she is used to dialling 18185 before she dials the number already.

She can get a free uk call bundle form plus net just the same.

The override does work. I used it last week to phone Canada. I have both phone and BB with Plusnet.

If you have inclusive 01/02/03 minutes and your calling a Canadian Landline.

These people offer a geographical access number at no extra cost to you.

BT are no longer required to offer indirect access and could block it at anytime if they wish.

"we are removing BT's obligation to offer carrier pre-selection (CPS) and indirect access (IA) where BT's retail arm provides the retail access line"

    http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/consultations/nmr-13/statement/statement-summary

Plusnet do still offer indirect access via 18185 at the current time.
