    too late...

I checked the in date flours and - well TMI

sufficient to say all flours are now flung. Ironically the SR and plain were showing more 'activity' than the wholemeal and stoneground.

Flour jars washed out and now drying thoroughly on rads.

Christmas cake fruit now soaking. I'm to make a pudding too (nut free) - might well look for the aforementioned recipe from St. delia;)

While looking for the cake tin I found 2 jars of hm marmalade I'd forgeotten - because it was with the cake tins rather than in the jam place (problem with making HM is there are lots of jars to store...)

Loaf taken back - was refunded total cost paid and did I want the rest of the loaf back - erm yes...

HOWEVER everyone must be making HM cakes and puds...had to visit 3 places to find cheap (ie suitable for cooking) brandy!

Bathroom, bedroom and kitchen all cleaned.

  • Ahh, Valli, I still remember the day I found weevles in the sugar - an hour or two after I'd given a mug of tea+2 sugars to a visitor! [shudder]. Hopefully the boiling water killed and sterilised the little blighters, but still... :(

Ironically, the house was very tidy and organised at that time!

Home now, and DH has emptied the car. Watching stuff on iplayer / 4oD, but feeling full of vavoom for the morning - tomorrow will be a Busy Day, and I will Get A Lot Done! :j

Watching Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners - it's trashy telly really (I always worry the participants are being a bit exploited), but it does make me want to CLEAN, which can only be a good thing!

    Sleep well all.

    Evening all.

Hugs, spoons, vibes & sticks to all :D

Been MIA as its been one of those weeks. No idea where Wednesday went. Thursday the old fridge & freezer went for recycling, and my internet decided it was going to play up on the one day I needed it for work. So a job that should have taken me about 4 hours took me close on 8 due to it constantly disconnecting. In the end I gave up and used my mobile as a hot spot to connect. Good job I have lots of data on my contract which I rarely use. :o

Friday internet was still playing up, but managed to get another router and it seems to be working now. Obviously my old o2 router had had it but it took me all day yesterday to get everything up and running again between a trip to Mr A for a microfilter (didn't fix the problem but much better than the one I was using) which ended up in me filling a basket with various bits and pieces, then a trip into town to get the router. While I was there I picked up a new pair of earring for DD who managed to loose one of her proper gold ones the other week and has been wearing fashion ones which have turned her ears black. If she looses these, she's paying for replacements

DD is away until Wednesday evening with family. I thought it was just until tomorrow night, but they offered to have her until Wednesday so I was happy for her to go. She won't be on Friday when I have loads of errands to run with her but hey ho :rotfl:

Today, despite being able to have a lie in, I was up at 7.30, and by 8.30 I had WM on and dailies done. By 9am I was sitting down with a massive pile of paperwork to sort. I have now been through ALL the folders of paperwork, some has gone in recycling, loads in a box ready for shredding, I've flung some damaged folders (one of which I've had since I started uni in 1998 so to say it had seen better days is an understatement :rotfl:), set up a folder for DD's bank accounts, I have filed everything I possibly could including setting up an archive box for papers like my GCSE certificates/DD's little red book/my P45s and wageslips :D. I just have a couple of things I want to type up, some papers that need scanning then adding to the shred box, and a pile of magazine to read. Then tonight I've set up my "festive" planning folder for this year ;)This is possibly the most organised my paperwork has been in about 7 years :o Tomorrow I shall scan/shred papers type up some bits, and set too on organising the drawers on the desk so I can possibly juggle storage boxes for other things.

Right now though, I am off to bed for a well earned rest. :p

Well done Nicki on the office sort-out :T

Deco - Hope you enjoy your trip to Wembley for NFL

Shushi - I've been watching that OCC as well and wonder if it is all true or some of it a rig up eh :)

I am seriously thinking about hiding a "Gibble Box" in every room, but I need to get the existing gibble piles gone before I start on that theory.
Well done on all the flying. It reminds me of when I had small sprogs and had a blanket box given me. I recovered it so it looked quite smart, added some wheels and kept it in the hall betwixt dining room and sitting room. If visitors were imminent and the place untidy I used it for general gibble collection :rotfl:

Carrier bags thrust into recycling at Mr Ms - I have offered them to charity shops before but they have always said they cannot accept them!

I used to run a charity shop and we always were short of them. It used to make me laugh when certain people bought stuff but didn't want a carrier from a discount store but one from somewhere a bit more up-market

I also loathe cooking/baking at the best of times, and feel that my efforts are, of late, being a tad taken for granted - though to be fair, I don't think he realises just how painful it is, and just how much I'd sooner be doing pretty well anything else than making food.

Anyways, he's just tootled off to make some more inroads into the front borders... Bless him, he hates gardening, and doesn't know a nettle from a nasturtium!:D

Oh LW - it's a shame that you cant swop jobs eh :)

My good news of the day is I CAN SEE MY DESK AGAIN !! :T

Yes, after another three hours in The Room of Doom, all the mega-pile of paperwork is sorted ready to file, shred or re-cycle and my desk is clear. I even found a battery for the clock (I'd forgotten there was one there) and it's now standing on the back ledge.

Just the heaps on the floor and sofa to tackle now :j

Hope you all have a super Sunday

wow, Nikki and Lynnejk you are both storming it on the office front:T:T:T

I have managed to get through the 2 binbags of toys to wash from playgroup - managed to somewhat destroy one of the playmats though in the tumble dryer  I feel a bit bad but we have got tons and tons of this stuff so I'll just cs it for rags and not worry too much. :/

Bit of gardening done yesterday and a good few wm and td, washing put away. DH out on a big cycle this am so I'll attempt a bit more gardening - want to get some more bulbs in. And since I'll have to do a cs run at some point I'll gather a bit more together.

    Morning all

Valli I shall be checking my strong flour today, the others are not in the cupboard for long.

I want to do a bit of flying in the kitchen today, go to Mr M to get my last week's voucher, WMx1 or 2 and DS3 has cricket trials later too.

Urgh! Feel like a zombie. Ds2 got me up at 5.15. I stupidly went to bed at 1 am as I knew would get an extra hour. I should have known better with my son. I tried everything to get him to go to bed or play in his room but he was having none of it! So after an hour I gave up and came down. I am nodding off in front of cbeebies!

    Anyway list for today.

    Dw
    Wm
    Hhi
    Hoover downstairs
Take ds1 to a party and stay and play with ds 2
Steam clean rest of living room carpet and hall.
    Rub down filled cracks
    Paint rest of kitchen
Wash down patio doors on the outside
    Wash some windows
    Finish off the railings
Wipe down paintwork and sockets in all finished rooms!

Wowsers! If I get all that done I will be pleased. Better have my cuppa first!!

  • Morning everyone

I am supposed to be checking my online banking and updating my finance spreadsheets but instead I am doodling about on the internet.

Ahh Frizzle I remember those days well. You will do well to get through that list today without having had much sleep! Take it easy.

I may join in with some paperwork sorting today. I should also try and get ahead with some paid stuff so that I have some free time to ferry the kids about next week.

Have a good day everyone x

aw Frizzle I feel your pain, I spent the hour between 5 am and 6 am persuading dd2 that it was still nighttime and not time to go downstairs for breakfast. Gave in at 6am:rotfl:
