Serena you posted some rather splendid guidelines to cluttering some years ago! They stuck with me .

Continued decluttering today, at the worst before better stage. OH filled some holes in the study plaster and fitted a new toilet seat. It's teal coloured and rather pretty - all of £12 in Wilkos.

I found lots of next size up boy pjs and unopened curtains today. Result or shameful that I forgot?

  • Hex2 - I'd call that a result! I found a new pair of cords bought for Dh years ago that might now fit if turned up - I am also calling that a result! - the fact that he has lost enough weight and it'll save buying another pair!!!

Came back from Museum ready to write two scary stories for the Halloween party next week. If I can find out how I'll get DH to take a picture of me and upload it!!! Shame I can't do audio as I'm practising my cackling!!!!

Will catch up tomorrow afternoon x

    Still to do:

Monday - Little bit of everything to start the week
An hour will make a big difference in your Room of Doom! Is it one big hotspot? Put the timer on and do chunks of 15 minutes filing, flinging, sorting tidying.

    Tuesday - Kitchen and Hallway
    Clear and wipe the surfaces
    Dust any furniture or shelves
Sort the baking cupboard - do you need anything for festive baking? Offers on now in some places
Wipe over the hob and oven door
    Clean a window

    Wednesday - Bathrooms, and Study
Clean toilets, including the outside and handle
Put away anthing that is loitering in these areas
    Clean baths, showers, sinks
Give your desk a good wipe, including keyboard and mouse
Polish all the finger marks off those touch screens
    Wipe the window cills

Thursday - Living Room and other reception rooms
Eat a frog or at least chew one
Catch up with your filing/bill paying/deleting emails
    Extras....
Can you remember where you have stashed the bargain Christmas Cards and wrapping - check how much you have before you even think about buying anymore!
    Polish something, brass, silver, furniture
    Catch up with some mending

Hex I think I remember that. Along the lines of three bags, keep, charity shop, throw away? Empty everything from room, has to go in one of three bags.

I also really rate ValliDon't put it down, put it away and AnW's mum Dot to dot - clear a small area. Them clear one next to it, so it joins up.

I worked full time for half of last year, and it really got out of hand, catching up again now.m:D

Really enjoying being back on flylady again.

Anyone else watch obsessive compulsive cleaners, I'm a bit concerned these cleaners toilets are probably cleaner than my kitchen worktops! I can't imagine I'd get a zero reading anywhere here, but I guess these people don't have anything better to do!

I can't believe the amount of bleach they get through! One big bottle a day, or even more. Using that amount of bleach everywhere is not good for the environment nor for the house, I don't think.

Today I didn't get as much done, but I'm determined to do at least the 15 minute tasks so I can make a bit of a dent in the housework that I've got so behind with.

Cleaned the loo, inside and out. Vacced through the main traffic areas in the flat. Cleaned the bathroom sink.

Mid week me time - not to be skipped by anybody! I don't care what you do, do nothing if you like but take some me time you deserve it.

I'm not sure if I deserve it but I'd like to sit down and read a book this evening. I'm taping the Grayson Perry documentary on Ch4 tonight, looks like it might be interesting :)

Went for my CAT scan and it was good news. No blood clot. I was so pleased.Seems it was likely an infection in the lung. Normal flying will resume tomorrow.
