Right, -70c screen wash needed for a UK winter!!:rotfl:0 -

Don't forget a few years ago it was around -25c in Scotland.
Price a few years ago was £5.99 for 5L.
The UK average for that extreme cold winter weather a few years back was a hefty....-1c!
There was just a few days, or even a few weeks, of very cold weather, it wasn't -25c for 3 or 4 months on end!!:rotfl:
I'll stick to a £1 for 2.5l of poundland screen wash, does just fine!:rotfl:0 -

You are allowed to dilute it, as someone already said.
But if it's poor to start with, like some I bought at Halfords years ago that froze on the screen at only minus 1 degree even used neat, the only thing to do was ask for my money back.
Good thing I didn't use the Halfords stuff on a trip to Slovakia, where it was minus 16, and had been minus 28 a couple of weeks earlier, when that sports centre in Poland collapsed.0 -

You'll probably find that at the concentration to give protection down to -5deg (which is probably what the poundland is good for) you can dilute the Lidl stuff down with water at a ratio of 4 or 5 to 1. (Maybe more!)
So 20-25 litres for £6.00 so around 25p/litre, whereas you are paying 40p/litreUnless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%0 -
I think you're missing the point. Because its good to -70c in it's neat form it can be diluted many times so it actually makes a very good deal.Edwood_Woodwood wrote: »

I could dilute the cheap stuff by 50% to give me 30l.
Would still protect at -2.5c and, considering even the really harsh winter of a few years ago only averaged -1c over the whole winter, that would be good enough.
Beside, when there were a few days of consistently very cold weather in my locality of -10c in that winter, the cheapo stuff still didn't freeze up overnight.
Yes, I guess if I hadn't used my car for days it may have but I didn't.
I'll stick with spending a pound, maybe 2, each winter!0 -
I got the Lidl stuff about over a month ago in Northern Ireland, so maybe they've sold out...Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0
