  • Oooh, happy birthday & I hope everyone & their little people are feeling a bit better.

I've not been on here much this week (the joys of living out of the freezer & having done a massive shop to start the month!) & have only popped on here today as hubby is off, the jobs are done & I wanted to catch up with this thread!

I spent a little time starting our December meal plan yesterday & just have 6 days left to plan for mid-month. It was a noticeably easier month because the 23rd/25th/26th we have visitors & the Christmas/Boxing Day meals are traditional family days where the list doesn't need much thinking about & my mum's doing lunch & tea on the 24th.

I love the thought of days & days of leftovers too! :) Lots to enjoy straight away as buffet style teas & some to stash away in the freezer for big meals later on! Yum!
  • Thanks Poddly. I have found a nice chutney recipe to try. Can't believe I didn't think of that! I might even make myself a pear and blackberry (from the freezer) crumble for pud tonight!!

Off to m today. Going to get some bargainiferous chocolates, and the bits I need for a bring and share party later today. I'll buy those things from my Christmas and pocket money budgets. May buy a few other bits there to save me going shopping tomorrow... Not sure yet.

Have a great day, despite the weather!

Hi everyone, how are we all keeping?

I had a NSD for yesterday... it looks like I may have to shop today, but I usually do my main shop on a Sunday morning when the reduced bargains are put out... I am trying not to have to spend today but I might have to get a bit creative!

My lovely Nan came over earlier with some tins of hot dogs and some Spam... she does this occasionally when she "spots a bargain" and won't take no for an answer... I am going to try making a meal from these for tonight, maybe some HM pizzas or something.

Also, I have my clubcard vouchers now, T3sco have sent me some fab coupons this time around and I have £11, which I will likely double up or something for Xmas.

Anyway, off to make a meal plan for the week, will update later and add any spends (or hopefully another NSD if I can be clever with my current stock) :D

    Namaste.

My poor little DS had the flu vaccine and he now has a nasty cold :( Made him up some honey and lemon water which I hope he will drink but I'm not sure what else I can do other than keep him warm, plenty of water and calpol.

The weather  I shall not be going out today unless the rain lets up - I walk and it's 20 minutes to the shops, just isn't happening.

We have milk, fruit and the fixings for lunch and dinner plus porridge for breakfast, poor DD will have to have porridge made with water as she is dairy free.

I really hope there is a break in the rain tomorrow or we will be eating freezer veg with our Pheasant which won't really do it justice.

Well the rain stopped so I went out and bought the items I needed, now I can make Butternut Squash soup tomorrow. I bought enough bread (for the freezer) and milk to last until Tues/Weds so I am hoping *fingers crossed that I will get a few NSDs starting with tomorrow.

Hope everyone who is poorly recovers quickly.

Spent £10.91 this morning at Morry's - bananas, tomatoes, cabbage, salad, prawns and few other bits.
Have spent the morning in the kitchen and made 8 pasty's with the meat I picked off the chicken carcass, some mushrooms that needed using, grated courgette, chopped onion and what was left of some pastry I made the other day. Also got 6 mince pies out of it as well (2 of which have since been taste tested) :p
The slow cooker has a large beef casserole slowly cooking in it ready for tomorrow as we are out for Remembrance Sunday till 12.00 we will then go and pick mum up and add some dumplings to the pot for half an hour or so.

Got given two minted lamb burgers as well so very :money: Have put these in the freezer for another day.
Off now to catch the rugby on T.V.
    MARCH £62.38/250
  • Another £3.67 today on bread and fish. It seems my big shop wasn't very big at all. I should have realised since I usually spend much more.
Still, I am determined to finish the month under £160 - I may have to live on tap water for the last week:)

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All
Clocking in with £11.16 today between tesco & sainsburys. I did manage to use up £6.10 in coupons though. Had to buy cat food & veg which we'd run out of completely.
Going to do lamb chops with roasted peppers, potatoes, & garlic tonight. Yum.
Hope you are all having a good weekend.

Fox face - how lovely your Nan sounds bless her.

Awww she really is! It was an absolute blessing as well, we had the spam for lunch on sandwiches and I am doing baked corn dogs with sweetcorn and stuff for dinner... meaning I have managed to clock up my NSD for today :T
