I've spent £11.79 this morning on the L!dl weekend deals and fresh stuff to last the next few days. I'm only adding £6.79 to my spends though as I had a £5 L!dl gift voucher.
The crisps I bought on the deal will go away for Christmas.
I'm hoping not to spend now until Thursday.

I need to do a meal plan and also work out my Christmas budget today. I'll also do some baking to get us through the week.
I hope your little one is feeling better solstice :(

Going to the pictures today with DD2 but hopefully avoid the shops as I have no freezer space and a lot of fresh food to use up.

Spent £45.65p today in my weekly shop and also got a voucher for £5 off next week's shop, so very happy with that!

Menu planned for the week, ideas mostly from A Girl Called Jack...

    Sunday: Roast chicken dinner
    Monday: Brie & Bacon risotto
Tuesday: Chicken and pasta broth (made with leftover chicken)
Wednesday: Cumin & Kidney bean burgers with HM potato wedges
Thursday: Peach & Chickpea curry with brown rice
Friday: HM Penny pizzas and HM chips
    Saturday: Pumpkin & Bacon carbonara

I have just used the three most close-to-bin brown bananas to make some banana bread muffins, for the kids to have as an after school snack through the week, will have a couple of dozen, so can freeze some for next week too :)

    Will update sig now :)

    Hi everyone!!!
Been away from MSE for about 6 months due to massive life changes (I won't go into all that here otherwise this post would be far too long!!) and my spending has gone massively out of control :( After a bit of another 'lightbulb moment' last night, I've come back here to (hopefully!) get the motivation and support that I've had so many times in the past in order to get back on track :)

With that in mind, I would like to sign up for the November Grocery Challenge to at least make a start on curbing my spending!! I would like to be put down for £100 and I will estimate that I've spent about £10 so far this month. This is almost double my old grocery budget but is similar to what I've been spending the past few months!! However, I think it would be too difficult to slash my current spending in half just like that, and with Christmas coming up there would be extra spending anyway, so I'm easing myself back in! With all the extra spending I've been doing, I have LOADS of food in the freezer and cupboard so even with Christmas extras it should be easily manageable ;) It's just me and the cat so I will be including all my food, toiletries, cleaning products etc and the cat food and litter as well. If anything is left over, I will use it to make an additional payment on one of my many debts as I've worked out that I will be at least 50 by the time they are paid off so I need to put every penny I can towards them if I ever want to even think about being able to buy a house one day :(

Anyway, that's me for now!! Still a bit of a long post but it could have been MUCH longer!! :rotfl:

Good luck to everyone else doing the challenge and I look forward to spending less!!! :D
